that sounds like bs, is it a mechanic or actual vicroads? like my missus's dad's car, dealership told him his engine needed to be cleaned, a new windscreen due to "sandblasting" :? and the fact that a power window switch doesn't work on one door.

get on the vicroads site and see what they can get you for, if it doesn't effect safety then you should be fine. it's phukwits looking for money
go wreckers and get the windows, will take 10 mins to swap over for legal ones, then swap back. should be cheap.

yeah i was thinking of doing that but i can tint windows and its only the front 2 so can really complain about those.i mean if they told me to strip the back ones i would of told em to get f**k.will normal windows fit on the power windows mechanism thingy??

can any one explain how to tighten the hand brake in the el?

Straight from the Gregory's Manual with slight editing.

1) Back off the adjuster nut on the handbrake lever.

2) Remove rear brake discs and examine the parking brake shoes and the brake shoe contact surface of the disc assembly.

3) Adjust the prking brake shoes to an outside diameter of between 189.6mm to 189.8mm using the adjuster nut.

4) Install the disc assembly, ensuring the disc rotates without binding. Install the retaining screw and the rear wheels.

Handbrake lever adjustment

5) From the fully released position, apply the handbrake lever 2 notches (clicks). Adjust the cable adjusting nut until there is a slight binding felt while rotating the rear wheels. From the fully released position, apply the handbrake lever 7 notches and check the rear wheels are locked. Fully release the handbrake and check that the rear wheels rotate without binding.

On your attitude to not buying a manual, Get One. You might learn something. You want to do all these mods to your car but you don't understand basic mechanics. Invest a few bucks on a manual and read it, you may find it will help. As said I got this from the Gregorys Manual, which is basic but took me all of 10 seconds to find and it explains it quite simply.

EF glass will also fit, the EF glass is a little thicker, but the will still fit for what you need.

sounds the same as newcastle, theres either ba falcon turbos running round with decent mods(hardly any of these) or heaps of s**t people in vns, theres a C**k at the moment running round in a vt/vx with vz front end conversion, but before hes gotten it painted hes already crashed it, ive seen him doing single peggers up hills past the highschools in the wet, he always spots me and rampages past me up the highway, with decent run up, but i just ignore like it doesnt bother me
