G'day all i have been looking at the site for a few months now just thought i would post up my ride.

It is a brand new xr6 FG got it for just over $32ooo

i want to do a few mods to it but im not to sure what i can do in relation to warranty.

I want to put a full exhorst on it and some rims and maybe a custom air intake, make it look and sound good. that all for now.

here are a few pics, let me know what you think and some ideas for mods.

Nice car matey, I see it is an July 08 model, was it a demo?

What's it like driving? I have only driven a FG ute plain. :(

What you could do to make a little change that shouldn't affect your warranty is change the Air Cleaner snorkel and box. The V8 32valve snorkel and air cleaner inlet opening are nearly DOUBLE the diameter of the 6cyl one and I saw a place somewhere on the net that advertises this as a kit?? (can't remember where I saw it sorry)

The part number for the snorkel is BG 9A624B and the air cleaner is BG 9600B. The snorkel is $60.00 from Ford and the Air Cleaner assy is $88.00.

thanks for the comments,

its not a demo it only had 47km on the clock when i ifrist test drove it and it ttook it home 3 days later.

i have seen the snorkel on e-bay, is it better to change just the snorkle or the whole airbox?

You will HAVE to change the whole Air Cleaner assy as the Snorkel is about 25mm larger in diameter.

The reason I asked if it was a demo is that it has a build date of 09/07/08, Still a really nice car :D

is he right?

I think because he works at Ford he enters in your number plate and all the details come up about your car.

I know at my Ford dealership this is the case.

I don't work at Ford but,
As far as i know The FPV's have the gauges and you can't by any FPV product unless you own an FPV. They ask for the Vin number of your car if you say you own one.

Papa Smurf may correct me if im wrong.

no gauges above the center console but the GTs have Volts and Oil Pressure? added to the Cluster and the turbos have the boost gauge instead of the Volts

Yes, Ford does make it hard to buy this sort of stuff. They wish to keep it exclusive and make you buy a FPV car to get them.

The rear spoilers for FPV cars are BLOODY expensive and you would be better off with what you have or an after market one. You couldn't buy one anyway unless you had a friend with an FPV. :(

The FPV F6 spoiler p/n BGFP F42210B is $2,170.00 and the GT/GT-P one, p/n BGFP F42210A is $2,2754.00 retail. :)

I did cheat with your Model number like 93EB said. :D

Your VIN is 6FPAAA JGSW8D84430. I still do not understand why Ford persists in selling XR vehicles with standard type diffs. Yours is a 3.45 ration diff and yet it is STILL normal and not LSD. Silly.

thanks for the info................ i think i will wait till they make aftermarket products,

Ford are smart with holding the market and keeping there cars individual.

im sure someday some one will make the BA FPV guage holders to fit the FG.

i just want to keep the car clean............looking smooth ................... with a bit of power
