Got the car started again today and backed it out in the laneway. Wasn't easy to move the thing, just dumping fuel in and smoke going out the dump pipe.
It's off to the exhaust place tomorrow and should have it back on Wednesday.

Fingers crossed we can have it tuned next week...

So the exhaust is done ! Some fantastic work done by Ron at USA Exhaust on Settlement Road.

Didn't need the tow truck to bring it back home, but wasn't the smoothest idle but did cruise fine.

Won't be able to tune it until after 7th of January so we have decided to put an intercooler on.

Just sorting out the parts now and need to get some pipes made up.

When it was all done I went to the shop and fitted it up with the bloke that did the work.

I was so happy with how it turned out ! It makes it look like a different car 8-)

My ED is Argon silver as well and just seeing these pics reminds me of just how cool the paint colour is, how in the sun it looks blue and in the shade it looks silver. Plus ive read this thread a few times now and it has been a good read. Good job with it :)

Thanks mate :D it's a never ending project but nothing wrong with that.
You are right, in different lighting the colour comes up different shades never just stagnant silver. Funny though, the image you spotted I never saw the colour changes

So here is a picture of the exhaust work... dump pipe all connected up with the waste gate pipe plumbed back to it.
The oxy sensor has been mounted half way down and tucks around. The waste gate pipe was also designed so that it could be separated and pulled out of the engine easily.

Also loosely put on a turbo beanie ! It sure does keep the temperature down in the engine bay.

Purchased some more parts last night....

Got a turbosmart boost controller, boost gauge and some heat shielding plate. Decided to get the boost controller now that we will run an intercooler and not worried about adding in a few more psi.

Just also wanted to make sure that this is the correct way to install the boost controller....

I always thought that it was connected to the top of the waste gate not that side :?

yes that is right, it goes to the side of the diaphragm, that way the boost pressure builds up under the diaphragm pushing the wastegate valve off its seat..

Cheers Troyman :D makes it damn easy to fit then. Just cut the hose I have there now and run it in line.

Pulled the drivers door trim off today to check out what speakers were in there. Had them for about 3 years now and wanted to upgrade. They are basic Sony 2 way 40w rms.

I checked the audio section of the forums and had a look through some of the better choices of speakers. Only issue is the ones that look decent seem to be too deep for the front door holes.

I was looking between $80 - $120, any recommendations would be great :D

Just get some alpine type s 6 inch speakers, not sure on depth but im fairly sure they would fit and they are decent quality. What size is your wastegate? nice removable pipe btw ;) just need a blanking plug for where the pipe meets the dump if you know what i mean haha.

Cheers Corbin, I was looking into something like this... Alpine SPG17CS.

{DESCRIPTION}

They seem to be pretty good for the price.

The wastegate is 38mm and the spring is about 5 or 6 psi :?
Haha cheers, I was also impressed with the work done on the exhaust, came up really well. Yeah put a plug in and have a screamer pipe every so often ???

Yeh that's cheap for a set of splits especially alpine. Just double check they will fit.

Yeah have a screamer if you take it to the track haha
