Straight advice, no B.S Cheers cwhitz I have seen their site before but not sure if I ever contacted them. Will shot an email off later on to see what Errol has to say. I was also checking out chequered tuning as they seem to know whats going on and have been recommended by people. Hmmmm |

xr6_corbin wrote: Why don't you hook up the boost tee now. Just wind it all the way down and it will run gate pressure. It's not like your going to be boosting it until its tuned anyway. You must have read my mind cause I was going to bring up a question about that... If I have the boost tee wound all the way down to negative boost will this still allow for air to pass through so that the wastegate gets a reading ? You are right as well I won't be hitting boost nor trying to before the tune, although do plan on driving the car to the tune as I think it will make it there. |

Boost tee's wound all the way down would have the same effect as running no boost tee it should be open or mostly open and run gate pressure. When you wind it up it restricts the pressure signal going to the wastegate which makes it run more boost.

Ah k well that will be ok then, like I said it's wound all the way down to (-) pressure so I am assuming the gate is wide open.
I found this pic and fro my understanding, the spindle is wound all the way down, meaning the spring is pushed all the way to one side and moved the gate ball out of the way preventing restriction. |

No gate will be shut until it reaches your wastegate spring pressure. I.e a 7psi wastegate spring will open at 7psi you can't set it any lower than what the spring is rated to in your gate. The boost controller is used to raise boost pressure from gate pressure

Yeah that's correct the boost tee will never lower the lowest rating of the gate spring. I was just worried that by having the boost tee wound all the way to negative it would not let any air through and not allow the wastegate to receive any air pressure.

OK so decided to move away from the HKS BOV and get something a bit more solid...
Was going to put it on the pipe behind the front bumper, but now putting it in the engine bay so that the spring tension can be adjusted more easily. Just need to get the bottom pipe welded on the intercooler pipe. |
