Cheers, Jason Hey Jason, Yeah the unused ports are now blocked off. The TB one is blocked and the one on the BBM is connected to the BOV. The car was not tuned with the catch can on, when it was N/A. Would it make any difference ? |

I've never had stalling issues with vacuum leaks with mine though. Only ever noticed because my boost gauge would be reading less vacuum and it would probably slightly over fuel at idle but didn't cause any major dramas. But I guess if it went the other way ie more vacuum it would be putting less fuel in resulting in hunting or stalling? Am I right? Well that's my theory anyway haha

Just be sure you haven't introduced a vacuum leak with the changes you made. Getting it tuned with a leak won't be ideal.

Cheers, Jason Will definitely check the vac on the car tonight and make sure nothing is leaking, hopefully nothing will be wrong. Do not want to get to the tune and balls it up with a dodgy vac. |

If your catch can is plumbed back to the intake manifold then it will be drawing air though the filter that is fitted to your can. Basicly a vacume leak.

Nah, the catch can is straight to atmosphere. The two vents off the rocker cover feed to the catch can. Where the pipes went to the BBM and TB, they have been blocked off. Can't say there is vac leak anywhere, no sign of it and the vac being read on the turbo smart fpr is fine. |

Ok so there is a bit of work still to go on the car....
Last Friday we took the car to Chequred Tuning and saw Trent and Cat, awesome people to deal with and great looking shop ! We left the car with them for the day and Trent played around with the base idle and running of the car. Seemed all good until we got a call that something wasn't right and it wasn't making boost Went back to the shop and had a chat and it was one of a few things, wastegate, turbo, vac leak or exhaust. As it takes about 50 mins to get to the shop we didn't want to take it home. Trent was absolutely fantastic in his work and he was a huge help in all the issues. He even diagnosed the issues with the car. On Friday night he sent me a txt with what was causing the issue... The intercooler had a 10psi leak across it and that's why boost was not happening. This was tested out with a small intercooler he had at the shop... So we went back on Saturday to discuss things further, understandably he didn't have anymore time to work on the car nor a spare cooler to install. Luckily with all the base idle done the car could now be driven home. Drives really well despite the boost issue |

So my old man spoke to Justin the other day about the issue with the intercooler. He was more than happy to replace the part as it had been confirmed by Trent as being stuffed. We think the most likely cause is the deflector plate in the left end tank as the inlet and outlet are both on one side.

Other updates are.... picked up another set of leather seats for the car to replace the parts that are worn out. Also got an xr6 leather steering wheel to replace the worn out grey leather one.

What a bummer about the cooler! Looks mint, hopefully a quick replacement and tune will see you boosting

So here are the dyno read outs.... You can see with the other cooler put on to test if things were working where the power jumps up and boost kicks in.
Trent stopped the run once he saw the power and boost as there was no point in tuning it until we had our cooler fitted. |
