Hey everyone !

Been on the forums for a little while now and have never made a build thread on my car.... Thought it would be nice to document the progress of my car as I have keep some photos of progress over the 2 and a bit years since I have owned my car.

It is a 1998 Ford EL Sapphire (Argon Silver) which was purchased as my first car around the end of 2008 when I finished high school. I try and treat it with as much respect as I can as it is my pride and joy.

This car has been an on going project for my father, with my old man teaching me a lot about this car and others. Without his help a lot of the work would not have even begun.

Here is a list of what the car has now....

Engine:
- Supercat Extractors
- High Flow Cat
- Exhaust
- Wade Cam
- Wide mouth snorkel
- BA Intake pipe
- Reco AU Injectors
- 300kpa Fuel Regulator
- Pod Filter in box
- Head has been done when the gasket went kaput !
- Over all engine bay clean up and paint

Interior:
- Sony head unit
- Sony front 6" Speakers
- Clarion rear 6x9's
- Parcel Shelf Sub 8"
- 12" Boot Sub
- Clarion Amp and some cheap other one
- Trip computer
- Modded Cluster
- Leather seats

Ride:
18" Typhoon Rims (pre - au)
SL (front)
SSL (rear)
Shortened Shocks (rear)
Whiteline Sway Bar (rear)
3.45 LSD Diff

Future Plans:
- Upgrade bushings
- 7" Double Din Head unit
- Painting the rear and side skirts of an xr6 body kit
........

Thanks for reading and I will be posting pictures shortly.

Ok here are some more pictures after some serious laziness on my behalf.....

Made up another little snorkel intake that sits on the front plastic shroud and feeds into the xr6 snorkel.

Also put the new extractors, cat and exhaust on.

Sitting lower with the SL all round springs

Car was running like s**t at this point in time so decided to check over the usual serviceable parts.... found what was causing the most issue.

Absolutely filthy and cracked !

The leads were also knackered so replaced those at the same time, a huge difference in power once these two things were replaced.

Replaced the stereo head unit cause wanted to learn how it was changed over and was sick of the other one.

Also put in a basic amp and sub for a bit more bass.

Wanted to change the front grill around and have it open so the new pvc pipe in the above picture could breathe....

So with 200,000+km and with the previous owner uncertain if the head gasket had gone, I decided to have it done so I would have to worry bout it. Got a mate to do it at his work as he had all the tools and stuff to do it. Here is a pic of the head cleaned up.

Thanks I_Love_My_Fords I try and keep it as clean as can be but not having it covered and Melbourne weather being so unpredictable it's hard for it not to collect some outer gunk, currently have a resident spider living in my drivers side mirror always likes to leave me a web to brush off in the morning
Do you mean putting on a set of EF tail lights? If so yeah have been meaning to do that for quite sometime now, the EL ones are ok but they can look a bit odd sometimes. My parents have an EF so might swap them round.

Yeah s**t me to no end when I get up to drive the car and its dirty again, but oh well I do enjoy giving the car a bath :)
I agree with I_Love_My_Fords the ef tail lights look a lot better, hopefully get to try them out in the next week or two. If the weather holds up the whole front suspension is getting a make over :D
