They were the ones fitted to some of the EF and EL SVO Falcons and Fairmonts put together by South Auckland Ford. I'm not actually sure who actually made them but they seem to be an NZ only part.

The guy running the joint (Dan i think his name was) is a pretty top bloke. Not a bad looking Mitsi you had before too, they look quite nice with a decent front and rear lips with matching skirts and bigger rims. |

Yeh, was one of the places you recommended and he seems like a good chap, he's been doing this for awhile me thinks I had the Mitsi for 5yrs, just got sick of it, can't do anything to them performance wise. Before that I had a '02 *cough* VY Wagon, was a company car so not my fault! Before that a string of Fords including XR/XW/XY/XA/XB, damn I miss those rides. I'm in a serious hunt for a XW to 'resurrect', god I love them! |

Well the 'budget' part of the build is going out the window. Pistons I got were 1mm over and cost me over $600NZD!!! Bore and crank grind over $700, ouchy, wife heap big angry.

Ah, the joys of car modification, costs just keep adding up
Which pistons did you end up getting for it? Were they the ACL brand? |

Engine rebuilds always seem to cost more than you initially think dude, it's just teh way it works.
My mighty boy, i spent $2k on it and i assembled it myself. My g/f spent just over $3k on her Tx5 turbo's engine rebuild, had to buy a brand new head (not reco) and turbo reco was also done. Her brother & myself assembled it. Can't wait to see the body tidied up on the wagon. What sort of plans do you have for the interior? Cheers ToranaGuy

Plans are up in the air, I would like leather seats/Ghia Panels etc.. but with a wagon not sure what options I have. Possibly LTD seats/panels will fit as I think the rear doors match up. Will be moulding the sub into back side panel and fibre glassing it up all nice like. |

Door trims, console, dash & front seats will all fit from a ghia in to the wagon. Rear seat, that's a bit of a grey area. I have seen full leather & leather/velour ghia wagon rear seats, but they are rare.
Cheers ToranaGuy

Got XR6 Lights coming and I have a XR6 Bonnet now, came with no flutes/inserts but that doesn't matter as I plan on crafting my own.
Bumper hopefully in 3-4wks. |

Side skirts lengthened to fit wagon...
Bonnet with all dings pulled out, hammered flat and filler skimmed... ($47 from Pick A Part yay cheap buys). |

Nice work bud!! Looking forward to seeing this all bolted up on the wagon.
Which Pick a Part did you find the XR bonnet at? Good score, XR's at Pick a Part are a very rare occurance |
