Went ok i spose. Bar is fixed fine but the painter is an absolute moron.
I'll get a pic tomorrow, the paint isn't even close to right On the bonnet or the bar, and in sunlight (camera won't show this) you can see the patchiness from him painting it too thin.

At the moment I have zero enthusiasm for the car at all. Hence the lack of any update.
Changing back to standard XR front once I find one and paint it, and after I move to Melbourne in a month or two I'm learning to paint. Not sending it back to anybody again.

Learning to paint will be a handy skill to have if you're going to keep driving into solid objects!!!

Well not much (read nothing) has really changed with this at all.

Moved house just out of melbourne now.

Taken out all the speakers and put pioneer coax in front and rear for now

And will be building a sound system slowly over the coming months

This is what is planned

Headunit
Pioneer DEH-7350BT (already installed)

Crossover
Kicker 03KX3 Active Crossover. This will convert my 2 preouts on my head unit to 3 pre outs, and give me much more tuning control, without the expense of a proper Processor that i have no real need for.
This will be more than enough for my plans, i dont need several hundred dollars of features i wont use

Front Speakers
Rockford Fosgate T1652S 6.5" Splits

Rear Speakers
Rockford Fosgate T1652 6.5 " Coaxial

Speaker Amp
Alpine PDX 4.100 (arrived today, photo below)

Subwoofer Amp
Apline PDX 1.1000 or PDX M12
Advantage of the 1.1000 is that its stackable.
Advantage of the M12 is that it has an extra little bit of power to each sub

Subs
2 x 12" Alpine Type R 2 Ohm

Hardware
All Stinger RCA's
Stinger 0/1 AWG power Wiring kit
16 AWG stinger speaker wire to all 4 speakers
10 AWG Stinger speaker wire to subs
Unsure about distro blocks just yet
Dynamat Xtreme or Stinger Roadkill deadening
DynaXorb pads for behind the front speakers

I will be building a sealed box for each sub (so i can get them both in the boot, a single sub box this size wont fit
Each box will be
Height: 35 cm
Width: 49 cm
Depth: 28 cm

that equals roughly 35L per sub (1.2 cu ft iirc)

Will all be slowly bought over coming months as funds allow, then all installed in one big hit.

This is all gear i know and trust (except the crossover, thats new to me), i know it will give me the sound i am after

BUT, the amp porn i promised you
Alpine PDX 4.100

And these are the coax i installed to tide me over while i sell my old splits and rears.
