Good work.
My mate and I were discussing that and then you said you were adding the front door handles and locks to the rear doors. I am really interested in this, and am keen to see how you go about various parts. BenJ

$300 for that section of the car (paid a grand for a complete running dunga for parts / somewhere to mock up my SC on) $150 for steel $150 for the axle Also i think i may be in trouble come Tuesday morning at work i was thinking something close to these lines but with a tr wagon rear for a small bathurst 1000 camper but this makes me change me mind and go for a ford wagon or something,,

BenJ it was piss easy, the front door handle fits the rear fairly easily, trace the cutouts for the front handle, lugs, and lock, lay over the cutouts in the rear door, use a dremel to cut the bits out for the lock and drill for the lug, then you will need to bash in the bit just below the lock around 3-4mm so it fits under the handle, fit lock, make new linkage (ill make a dwg of this) and assemble. only caveat is that you cant lock the door from the inside, if you wanted to lock yourself in youd need to open the window. lock the door with the key, then wind it up again, this could be added, but i didnt see it as a necessity, you can still unlock from inside since when you pull the handle it unlocks automaticly (just have to remove the kiddy lock switch)

Perhaps I should do this with my fairmont body? The rear half is pretty good:)

front will be fully sheeted in, no window (as ive already discovered when sleeping in my car there is PLENTY of light that gets in through the existing glass).
and here is a pic of the custom linkage i made up to get the lock barell working with the rear mechanisms You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I would suggest not using a flat piece for the front as the drag would be awful. I you were to build a front piece with a truncated cone so that the air would be pushed out of the way easier it would be better.
Cheers BenJ

im gonna try and get as much curvature on it as possible, but it CANT be worse than one of those moving trailers, or a caravan for that matter.
the job for wednsday is to go get some 1.0mm sheet for the front, some 2.0 for where ive cut the tunnel out, and some more RHS to strengthen the floor up cos of the tunnel being gone

those moving trailers suck big time.
I always freeze up the gas converter when towing giant loads. The car tows fine just cant keep up the gas supply with the current regulator. Perhaps a wedge shape? I need photoshop!

if it turns out it acts as a giant airbreak ill make up a fireglass "bubble" like you see on some of the really tall moving trucks

The front could be a flat panel with 3 triangle shaped panels over the A frame, the 2 side panels could open or have hatches in them to serve as extra storage space.
