i need to make up my mind. i found out i can get a low kms AU motor from the wreckers in the next town for really cheap.
but not a fan of cutting the k frame. has anyone got any pics of modified sumps or k frames?

Get a modified sump, so you don't require an engineers report on the sub frame mod.

Don't need to modify the k-frame to fit a au engine in, Just grind of the Fins on front of the au engine, They will then fit in fine

aren't the fins only about half a centimetre thick? is that all you have to take off?

sorry dont have any pics since i washed the motor or k frame as i was doing the swap at mum and dads..
them being on tank water i wasnt going to waste their water if it could wait till i got into ballarat to do it at the carwash instead.. or better still mate i have a garage thread which has how i went about going to serpintine belt too. as i didnt and cant run the bbm easily as i didnt want to drop in size on the lpg mixer post1189231.html#p1189231 Last edited by 89S-PACK on Fri Oct 08, 2010 8:23 am, edited 2 times in total. |

Must be not really to sure, i thought the grinding of the fins for were all the e series but i was mistaken with the el and ef setup

EF-EL K Frame is very different to the EA-ED.
To put an AU engine in an EF-EL you have to cut the front of the sump off at 45 degrees and weld in a new plate. Cheers BenJ
