I might repaint then for a more glossy look if i was to get them ! The only thing i see being wrong with the covers is that they may be a bit to big for our small discs but i plan to get some bigger slotted and cross drilled ones so hopefully that will make them look better !

Also when sitting in the car you cant even notice the speckles of black paint left on the nut and it came up really well for the amount of time i spent on it !

id have a look at upi for new/used shocks, just look for ones with a recent date on them,eg jan09 etc.
the nut just needs a polish now, will come up like chrome.
speak to quik ED, he has a chrome knob for your shifter handle

Nah i didnt end up getting a price on it but they have a few some with buttons and some without but the ones with buttons were chrome buttons ! Yea the nut is easy to do espically if you have a orbital sander which mine screwed up but shouldn't take more than 30 Minutes and makes a bit of a difference !

For those who like the audio side of things thats the major thing in my car (this is copied from another forum ill try to alter it to make as much sense as possible)

it was time for me to pull my finger out (wanna guess where from?)

Decided after work that i wanted to mount one of my amps atleast under the seat so i decided to mount the JBL amp under the passenger seat but no hardware store near me did a cheap T50 Tork Key but then i learnt threw trying everything that a 8mm (i think) allen key works ! So i got to mounting it under the seat and i am happy with the end result with the time i did it in !

Heres the seat out looking at the naked carpet !

Trialing where i am going to put it

Tired fitting the mono in somewhere but no go because it is too big, so it has taken a back seat till i think of something else (trying to think if it will fit on the back of the back seat with the gas tank (but probally not safe)

So atm bye bye OA/SM Mono

Cables coming out of the hole ( i was going to do one on the other side but time didnt allow and i am just as happy with this idea)

This was my clearance in the end, also the amp is stuck down with some Velcro dots

This is the seat all the way forward, this is the only time it has been up that far so im no concerned with seeing the amp, gives me an easy way to check the RCA's and protection light if needed ! And i like people to see the effort i go through !

Also had a mate named Callum (Big Valven on www.mobileelectronics.com.au) help me with this

First thing was to have Callum mark out the piece of plywood that we were using and get it in the shape we wanted. You see a little indent in the wood, that was for the window winder but Callum still sealed that will another piece of ply and foam behind it.

Then when the right shape was in our view Callum got some good old felt and some 3M contact adhesive and went to work covering the ply (to give it some extra strength and padding under the vinyl that will go on later)

A test fit of the speaker shows it sits beautifully snug, and Callum was more than happy enough to get his new Router onto the hole. (had to mention the new Router)

While he was doing the trims i was cleaning the door with some metho and laying down some dynamat in some spots that Callum suggested and since he knows more than me i had to abide by his idea ;)

Result
I could not believe how clear and punchy my speakers now are and was more than happy with the effort that we had to go to, to achieve this result, also Big Valven gave me a quick tutorial on how to tune my system and then i was off to further perfect my sound system !

but as you can see with the original speaker hole BV gave me the left over Vinyl and today i went out and covered the stock grills in vinyl, and once i glue them hopefully it will look like there was nothing ever there ! Pics will be up in a few days when i can get a tube of contact adhesive ! Also for the Grills i used "permatex" Contact Spray Adhesive and i thought that you would like to know that for $22 from Autobarn this stuff works really well ! Glad i didnt buy the cheap crap !

(Callum was telling me to get good stuff)

This is the final result after i used the Contact Adhesive to attach the vinyl to the grills ! To attach the vinyl covered grills to the door trim i used Liquid Contact Adhesive between the edge of the grill and the trim but unfortunately there was too much of a gap (if you look at the glue points for the stock grills once removed) and i had to use tap to hold it down aswell ! So there may still be an air gap but i will probally get some Dynamat and lay it over the back of the grill and a bit of the back of the trim to seal it good !

All finished

My interior !

Please leave some feeback would like to know what you guys think !

Also next plan for Performance is to spray my extractors and respray my rocker cover, then look at suspension and brakes !

On the audio side of things i need to get the mono block mounted somewhere and then upgrade my subs to a good JLw13 in a nice ported box (only problem is that it will only vent out the parcel shef....stupid gas tank)

Like the idea of placing your amp under the seat and it was a good job you did. Only thing I would suggest is maybe a cover to go over the back part so no back seat passenger can kick it? Made out of plastic or metal with a few slots for venting?

Like the position of the speakers too. :)

When the chairs sitting back where it normally does you cant get your feet under it anyway ! And im still deciding whether the 4ch JBL amp will go back into the boot or not !

Went down to U pull it today and the first car i saw was an XH Ute and the bay was still intact so i was able to pick up the Air Snorkel so now i got a XH Snorkel for $3 !

Thats right $3 ...hopefully it'll go on tomorrow just have to mod it for the gas system !
