Nice. What other plans do you have for the car? Deleting the clutch fan & going with ef thermo's? Serp belt conversion?

Cheers

interiors getting bucket seats, new led lights, el console, re-trim should be good

also getting a respray including the engine bay when the old motor comes out.

Hello fellow EB owners.

here is a few updated pics of the work on the motor for my turbo EB falcon.

Im now only waiting to pic up the head from engine solutions in airport west. its having crow cam valve
springs put in along with turbo oversize valve stems and obviously a polish.

Iv also made a straight rail exhaust manifold at trade school, should work a treat.

hope you all like the work the car should be up and running around December fingers crossed.

Now that a nice diy manifold man, you encounter much problems chopping up and welding the stock manifold to suit a turbo? Just asking as i'm incompetent with a welder but know a few guys who are handy with one.

thanks for the feedback guys.

look with modifying the stock manifold its ok but not great. for starters its hard to weld mild steel to cast iron so you end up going over your weld about ten times. plus my turbo is huge and was set back to close to the firewall to get a 4 inch dump pipe in. but if you made a J shape pipe it could be done.

so it was plan B to build a mild steel straight rail manifold similar to those NZ ebay ones or snort performance ones. seems to be ok for the GT45 turbo.

ill put up some more pics in a week or so of the car and more engine work.

if you guys need help with a manifold and your melbourne locals drop me a msg might be able to help out :)

Just had ideas floating round in my head is all, well done though man. Probably could make yourself some cash selling manifolds :P

nice work modifying the standard manifold, looks familiar lol...

Image

welding to cast iron is fine as long is its pre-heated and cooled slowly.
i tried to sell these last year but only sold 4 lol. people thought it was too dodgy and that the exhaust gases wouldn't flow well enough...
a guy in adelaide made 230rwkw on 11-12psi though, so not a bad budget option.

nice build though, those turbos seem to do quite well on the 4l so should be good fun!
