got 1 coat of clear on the roof and boot doing the top of the left front door the air line kinked  and a big blob of paint went on the door and ran down so i had to sand it and prime it when it drys ill give it a light sand and try get some colour on it tonight then tomorrow paint bonnet and gaurds then clear them aswell as both sides of the car then it will be even then give it all a few more coats and prep the side skirts and bumpers.

Image
also got bored while waiting so i sprayed the tyre well and fuel tank in matt black i had left over from the engine bay to get rid of the over spray and also did the end of the exhaust so it wont be rusty but it will probably burn off :P

Coming along well now, i had the same problem with the MechPro many moons ago
went and got myself a Star SP4000 sensational gun, its amazing the difference a
quality gun makes, keep up the good work.

cheers guys.

well with having to fix a few bits on the car and spilling some thinners ages ago im running very low on paint primer and thinners i have enough thinners to get the final coat of clear on the car but it wont be finished this weekend. one day after work next week i will go and get some more paint and re hire the compressor for next weekend.

anyway the car is done, front and rear bumpers are painted but no clear and one side skirt.

didnt get a good run this morning had a few dramas with the compressor leaking and losing pressure.
door fixed
Image
bumpers primed no picture of them painted
Image
and the car with clear im about to go outside and give it a final coat.
Image

so tomorrow there will be pictures of the car out of the car port it hasnt left the driveway in 2 months.

to do: fix a side skirt the paint keeps blistering on it
to buy: paint, primer, thinners.

car will be done next weekend.

It will come up well once its buffed....

Dont be in a rush to buff it tho, as the paint is really soft for the first couple of weeks.

so today with no paint i decided i was sick of the XF being to low scrapping on everything and way to bouncy so i tried the old rear springs from the XR6 into the XF and they fit so the rear is now raised i have the factory springs from my XG but for some reason there to tall and dont fit so i will cut 2 coils of them tomorrow and they should fit. Tuesday i am going to go and get more paint and stuff ready for the weekend. Wednesday ill go and pick up this mirror for the passenger side for the XF. Friday i pick up the compressor again to finish the rest of the car.

rear raised

How much clearance is there between the back tyre and the guard? It looks like a couple of centremetres, the springs in the front of my XF are about that too if I recall?

Might be worth a look and I can give you a hand throwing those ones in.
