come up real nice with a buff mate. just befriend a painter/panel beater like i did and get it fixed up

im suprised how well it came up, next step will be to patch up the rust and get the grill fixed or hopefully find one then get it tidy up by a spray painter.

no updates just been driving and enjoying but this is what it will look like eventually :P (not sure if these wheels are available anymore but same sort of style).

Image

please ignore my superior ablitys at chopping things  i did it in paint yes its crap but it gives you an idea.

also starting a full time position at my current job so i may save a few pays and just drop if off somewhere let them cut the rust out and give it all a fresh coat of paint, mainly due to a few scrapes around it and the clear has marks all through it on the roof and boot.

ok did some stuff today firstly a pic of the trip computer and cd player.

Image

firstly i took off the pillars and cleaned all the dirt and leaves out.

i then removed the spoiler and it was pretty dirty under it
Image
i then continued to remove the tail lights and garnish
Image
removed all the dirt and cobwebs
Image
i then re assembled it (minus spoiler) tomorrow i will remove all the old double sided tape and put some fresh tape on before putting the wing back on.
Image
also took the wiper cowel off and got all the leaves and dirt from under there
Image
Image

also today i cleaned all the boot plastics (coverd in dust) fixed the boot lock, fixed drivers side seat belt and chucked on a set of throw over seat covers i had in my room.

also tried on turbo blades thoughts?
Image

at this stage work is stuffing around with the full time arrangement so it seems at this time it may not even be happening

so as the car sits it has no power steering (belt keeps soming off) and it is out of rego  so when i have some money again ill get a new p/s belt and some rego and get some better photos with the turbo blades (only has 2) i just want to see how it will look from a distance.

so its been a while bits happend stuffed my knee at work, finally got some rego and a new p/s belt also new plugs leads and oil and filter change aswell as a intake. The left hand sill now has a rust hole in it and the sill seems quite weak around the area of the rust. So for now im just going to drive it while saving up some money to try get a replacement car to transfer things over to im leaning towards a wagon.

Also it has a blown muffler wich is getting taken out on tuesday and replaced with a section of pipe, and i have also put my magnums on it (all have brand new tyres) seemed abit of a waste for them to sit around plus the tyres on the xr alloys are quite worn.

I think thats all for now ill try get some photos up soon.

alright i have decided to tidy up the body on this patch up the rust and fix the grill before i go any further with this update photos from last update.

and a photo from about 4 years ago of my 1964 xm project car shame it was to far gone with rust.
Image

back to this update, with the body work decided a go ahead i chose the grill as the best place to start it basically came off in 3 pieces.

grill off
Image
grill being fiber glassed back together

and test fitted back on the car
Image

Its rough but its all back in one piece and is quite strong i should have this finished tomorrow. I then plan on doing the front bumper then the rear bumper followed by the the rear right qauter panel then the passenger side dill then flick some paint on it and colour code the side moulds.

back qauter is almost done aswell as the grill. the car will be going 2 tone colour chosen for the lower part of the car is EGO. Hopefully the body work will be all done in the next few weeks still need to do the bottom of the doors and the bumpers. Also i will be grabbing el door handles and fuel flap.

once its been painted i will be looking into some new wheels and getting some ultra lows wich will finish the exterior of the car.

Do the whole car Ego!

Or Silhouette.

Now you actually have to paint it, otherwise you will look like a bogan.

i was originally going to do that back 1/4 and the grill red then paint the lower half of the car but now im also thinking of respraying the bonnet and grafting a small scoop onto the left side above the pod for cool air (undecided on this).

im unsure on a colour change as i have to do door jams aswell or it will look crap when i open the door :P i will do more thinking on this anyway.

haha yea it looks abit bogan now hopefully not for to long

the mystery blue plug in the engine bay, is for a coolant sensor used by the auto climate control fitted in fairmonts, etc, it there because the engine loom is used in all i6 models.
