XF FAIL: today i went and got the carby for the xf after some mucking about swapping missing things onto the new one i was ready to fire it up ran ok has a minor fuel leak wich will get fixed when it goes for a tune i cant do it any tighter without a proper pipe spanner or it will strip. while i had it running the radiator decided enough was enough and started leaking from some new areas then over heated  all good i thought i had the spare radiator there i pull mine out to find they are different so tomorrow im taking it to the radiator shop where it may be repaired or i will have to order a new one, on the plus side i may have a set of extractors to go on.

Ooh not bad. The red striping is looking fairly tired and pink against the new paint now! Any plans to change it?

the ed got buffed today and well it didnt go so well few parts didnt really buff up at all and my mate put some burn marks in the back right door and front left gaurd aswell as a couple on some side moulds and melted the edge of the passenger side door handle no pics i just parked it in the shed. No joy with the xf cold start is better but over the last few days the idle has gotten worse wich is getting annoying in stop start driving as now it basically stalls im hopefully going to get it tuned this week if i can. So once i have some money to spend im probably going to drop the ed off at a panel shop and see if they can fix the burn marks in the paint.

i may post photos tomorrow.

should be an idle adjust screw on your weber carb just warm the motor up then adjust until you get the desired idle
when i had my auto xf i used to set the idle while in drive with park brake on

may give it a small tweak untill it goes for a tune up.

well some motorvation kicked in and i decided to have a go at fixing the burns on the clear. i also managed to some what fix the drivers door and doesnt look anywhere near as bad as what it did. i fixed the rear right door as best i could the marks dont stand out anywhere near as bad and from a distance you cant even notice them i now need to look into the left front gaurd.
