Hi all
i am currently in the "pen to paper" stage of my build up. Not going to be completed in a flash...but sure will be flash. lol
to start off let me tell u a lil about it.

Its a sunfaded red EX-mouri mover that I've currently owned 4 the past 9months. in the 9moths of me owning it ive added 2 12" kicker comp. series subs and a 1200w coustic mono-block amplifier, a set of 18x8.5" anz mayhems a eaonon 7" touchscreen indash dvdplayer all kinda just thrown in there just so i can drive it. lol

But ive come to relise i NEED to do some thing about it.
So0o0o0o....

here are some plans and ideas that ive come up with so far:

I will b replacing the boot & bonnet to an ef fairmont
replacing the stock bumper with a F6 typhoon style bar
installing XR side skirts
replacing the stock rear bumper with a gto style bar

then for its strip back and prep. for its new colour, still staying with red but going the Mazda "true red" (paint code: A4A)

these are just a few of many modiforcations to come.
i will be posting and updating regularly to this post in the next coming months if any of u r intrested in following the exciting journey of the ex mouri mover gone custom.

to b honest my wheels cost more then the car...lol

i got the car off a family friend a few months back, cost me $500 with a blown gear box and no rego.

cost me $650 4 the gear box and put in a new haness y i was there, so basiclly its a bargain car and i think it's a great stepping stone 4 a project..

performance wise....

im looking around 4 a stage 2/3 cam and a 70mm throttle body at the moment.
along with a custom intake setup.

and a little down the line a custom planum and supercharger set up.
(but will be exchanging/rebuilding the motor b4 that happens)

all so a set of extractors with a 2 1/2" system....
definatly b an ecu change in their...but 4 the moment im focusing on looks...wit the odd performance mod thrown in there.

Futura huh? Fairmont bonnet huh? Rear windows need electrics huh?
Trip computer? Climate control? High series instrument cluster? You
need to change the horrible fabric door inserts and seats whilst you're
there. At least get XR6 low springs all around. I have a FAIRMONT boot
you could have, but am in New Zealand. If you want it for $20NZ I can
look into shipping cost. But, then again - you only really want the badge
and the chrome bit which wasn't chrome on the Futura, so the cost of
those bits to ship to AUS shouldn't be much.

Actually just sold the Fairmont front end, complete lights, fenders, guards,
grill, bonnet and bumper for $350NZ. But yeah - they do make your
Futura look better. Go for it. Mazda red is a good choice too. Should
make the car look like an expensive GTO snake in no time!

Don't know about Aussie, but the respray thing in NZ is looking to set me
back a few thousand, which I cannot afford to be honest. Got my car for
$1000 and have probably only spent another $1000 on the whole thing -
although would benefit heaps from a paint job.

Remember --- The best security system in the whole world is a car with
three different coloured panels and dirty mags!

I only learnt from being told by others on FordMods,
but all you need for front end is the headlights, the
bonnet (and grill) and the bumper... And then you
just start unbolting and then you just start bolting in
reverse order of unbolting with the new stuff. Simple
really.

Remember to check if the ambient air temperature
sensor is in the Futura - is near the bonnet latch.

Oh - you'll need to change the bonnet latch to the
Fairmont variety too as has a longer arm to match
the different boot / bumper placement.

The Fairmont headlights are a different shape so
don't even unbolt anything until you make sure you
have usuable headlights.

All good man. The ambient temperature sensor is
used by the digital climate control, that I just know
you're gonna want working later when you feel like
pulling the interior completely out and Fairmonting
it! Its a black cylinder that dissapears downwards from a metal clip that is screwed on to the plastic
cover that directs air into the radiator. You should find
it near the centre around the horn placement area
under the bonnet latch. The Futura horn wiring loom had the wires all ready to go, which is the nice thing
about the Futura over the base model Falcons.

When you do the electric rear windows you'll agree!
(And thank god someone at Ford was half onto it by mass producing different models in this way...
Awesome of them...)
