Should work...
I could be convinced (for a reasonable fee) to take out some rear door Fairmont EF electrics and ship them to Ausland... My rear doors (I have an original AUT, or EF to most people, Futura) are running EL Sedan door electrics... I threw an entire set of electrics on the tip a while back. Hmmm... Tell you what, go to the local Pick-A-Part or U-Pull or whatever with a decent electric drill and save me the trouble! |

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!
go to put the key in just to get both the AU and the EF away tonight and the key doesnt even want to go in one bit. somehow, i think i might've accidentally whacked it while pulling the dash out. and also the rod for the blend door snapped off when i was taking the old pulley system out. Looks like im up for both a new ignition and air con box unless someone knows how to fix one or both?

OK.
The key won't go in the key barrel at all? Is it bent? Did you try turning the steering wheel? And for the blend door motor, can you take a photo of the part? Cheers BenJ

Heres the pictures of my problem. it was taken using my nokia N95 so they aernt that good but good enough. now what i mean is that the top of the blend door rod inside the heater box snapped away when i carefully took the old pulley system out to put the blend door motor in for the climate control
Thats the bit thats meant to be on top of the plastic pole inside the heater box the blend door that managed to break away. in this picture though i have already taken it out of the old one and put into the new one. I tried to get a shot inside the box from the top opening. thats where the black bit (refer to the bit sticking out of the blend door mover that goes onto the bottom of the motor) should be. Hopefully these pics are good enough

Damn, that is really strange.
You may be able to glue it, but I don't know how long it would last. Heater box removal is not fun, and you loose all your A/C gas. Good luck with what you decide to do. Cheers BenJ

Yeah, i tried to glue it last night but it just broke away after. may try again tonight and i dont want to fully remove it and put another one in as i only had the aircon re-gassed 6 months ago

just looked and i last had the aircon regassed in january...... only thing is that most of the gas had disappeared while i was letting it leak out. and can anyone confirm that the aircon refrigerant is green?
and also following on from that, i have decided just to get a replacement box from the wreckers saturday

Have had an excellent day today while i had another day off (only 3 days, Friday, Monday and today ) I managed to settle my case with my old heater box . Due to two metal clips stuck on the black hoses (located behind the engine block) so i sorta too to it with my sledge hammer and 'reasoned' with it to come off. Now i have a massive cleanup to do in my garage.
Long Story short, in one day i managed to 'remove' the old heater box, clean up the mess, install new heater box, screw in all accesories related to climate control , install the dash, reconnect all wiring behind it and then all the usual s**t thats followed after that as standard Pics will follow as soon as i decide to connect the camera
