Howdy all, I've had a few fords I've worked on but this is the only one I've ever done a thread about.

It's a June 98 XHII xr6, that I've recently purchased for a tidy sum of $1,350. Unregistered. Valve stems need replacing. It needs a new drivers seat since this one is completely detached from the base! But is still in good working order.

Well last bloke to own it has taken the steering wheel and airbag and replaced it with a crappy sports steering wheel, he's also cut into the parcel shelf and installed more speakers

So the plan is to do the cab extension and get it engineered to keep it legal but Im not going to remove the shelf as I think it's a good base to add my 8" with a little box behind it. So right now am chasing parts to get it up to scratch and get it on the road

Here's a coupe more pics I took when I first got her

More updates soon

Well the passenger door handle was broken so I jumped on the eBay to find a replacement, picked up a set for $26 bucks and 1 week later they send me the wrong ones!! Turns out they've mixed up a order and sent me chrome xd handles instead!! Well instead of trying to send them back and get new ones ordered I thought it retro fit them and see how they look, little bit of messing around to fit them and I recon they look sweet..

What ya think?

Actually looks good!, matches the keyhole.

I'd keep it.

Yeah, I like it aswell.

Although I was hoping replacing the broken handle would fix my central locking problem, but that needs further investigating it turns out

Well am not sure if the actuator is busted or there's something obstructing it from locking, it cycles up and down when I try to lock

Yeah that's what mine does, pretty sure the actual motor is stuff, soon has I remove the connection all other doors lock, so I manually have to open that door with the key.

Try taking the door lock pins off the rods and see if it works.

The actuator is pretty sensitive and the pins can sit at varying heights on the rod.

I fixed my XH doors just by using a bit less force to put the pins back on.

I'll have a look at the rods next chance I get, one of them is bent different to the other door so that might be the cause

Well a bent rod was the cause of my problems. So took rod out of passenger door and works fine now, just means I can't unlock the passenger side with a key, no that it matters!

Well as some people know my XH xr6 got Totaled by a moron in a pos.. So as I wait for the payout to come my way I picked up a 98 au forte wagon, super basic 8 seater with column auto and 300ks on the clock for 1500!! Motor run beautifully and all drivetrain has been taken care of, just a
Couple of little things stopping it from being a beauty of a ride.

So plan is to drive it until my payout and give it to the Missus then to use as a
Trip car and her daily.
First thing I'm gonna do though is get rid of the column auto an put in a center console...
