When I do find one, I'll take the box in to be rebuilt. Can anyone recommend me a good clutch? I have no clue. bout time you maned up and got a manual, i run an exceedy 6 bolt clutch in my car and it's a good clutch copes with my abuse try and get a box from and xg or ef with the 6 bolt flywheel, so you can run the bigger 6 bolt clutch |

Well.. I now own a navy blue hybrid engine'd 1998 EL XR6 with 166602KM on the ODO.
It is unregistered though, and needs a bit of work. Not sure whether it'll be it's own car, or whether it'll morph together with my ghia. |

Put all the ghia stuff in that, would look good

That's the hard way. You have to move interior, BEM, looms, climate, etc.
The other way you only have to put the XR front on the Ghia. |

Let the XR be it's own car.
Otherwise take the skirts off and put them on the Ghia and part out the rest. |

So I've decided...
The XR6 is staying together, and will become my stock daily. I am not going to do any crazy modifications to it. I'll be taking the kit off of it as I don't want it to get damaged in day to day driving. The ghia... well... I will probably be de-registering it so I'll be able to work on it properly, and get it completely street legally modified, however long that takes... I still have another XR front end that I'll be putting onto it in the future, as well as the ticky kit from the new car. |

The XR looks pretty good man, little bit of TLC and it'll be a mint daily . I'd probably even leave it as is and source another Tickford kit for the Ghia.

Bit of progress!
Attachment: 22.jpg Attachment: 11.jpg Attachment: 33.jpg Fixing the quarter panel damage, as well as replacing/respraying another bootlid, respraying the top of the rear bumper and neutralising/glassing some rust. Once the bodywork is done, I'll be heading down to pedders to fit some new brake rotors, get some new bushes and a wheel alignment done. Then I'll be painting the dash surround in black (because it's a bit grubby). Then hopefully it'll pass roadworthy! You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

It's ready to be painted tomorrow I'm thinking of modifying the badges and removing the Ford badge from the rear. And having the Falcon and XR6 badges separate on each side.

Well it's all painted
I am very keen to get it back home, then I can cut & polish the whole lot, detail the interior, detail the engine bay, take it to Pedders then head down to the pits! |
