wrong gearbox oil. Either run DXIII with a friction modifier, OR TransmaxZ

Have you got a new clutch cable? If that breaks, it could require a tow truck.

Transmax was all auto fluid, that's what I was looking for in the first place :/

I believe this is a good condition genuine cable, I heard the repco ones break easy.

Correct. T5's are designed to run automatic transmission oil. I have transmax z in mine.

I use the Penrite T5 compatible oil. Gear oil 70 or 80 or something.
Seems to go alright. Been in there for a few years now.

*edit - this one... http://www.penriteoil.com.au/pis_pdfs/M ... 202012.pdf

Didn't get that much done today. But I'm up to the bell housing bolts.

Swapped the oil for some transmax z too.

NEWS!

I didn't get my T5 until yesterday.. And it rained that day...
Image

So today I actually pulled the auto out, the bellhousing bolts are easier than I thought
Image
Image

Wait.. what is this??
Image

Turns out the spigot bearing was left in.. which was weird because the motor and box seemed to come together fine when I did the engine swap. But now the torque converter is quite stuffed :P

then the mutha f**k rain comes again, stalling progress.
Image

Should be finished in the next few days... If it doesn't rain again.

To keep it simple, the ghia is off the road and is getting the dash pulled out to fix catastrophic electrical gremlins.
