i hope that was on one of these "private" roads everyone seems to have! lol
but yeah, best thing i did was rip the auto out of mine and throw in the T5.
which reminds me, must update build thread soon!

Quick question for you mate. When you did the red stripe on the XR. Did you just sand it back with 1200, 2 coats of the Monza and then use a clear coat?

Pretty much man, I think I did more than 2 coats of red.

With the clear it depends how much you use. I was fairly light on it and it made it shiny with a bit of texture. If you go a bit heavier on it, it comes up more glossy.

Got some new tyres today,

Maxxis Victra MA-Z1

According to this review they are probably one of the best all round tyres you can get, and are the best when it comes to emergency stopping in the wet.

I'll let everyone know how they go over the next few months. Quite an upgrade to the 2 year old zetum sports I had; they would spin first and second gear in the wet the moment i hit about 2500rpm  wasn't very keen on them to get me to stop quickly in the rain.

Yeah zetums are pretty crap. I noticed a hell of a difference going from Yokahamas to all rounders and back. With the bob janes, I was constantly worried about the car stepping out unexpectedly. When the yokeys were new, you could hear them gripping.
