They're not that hard to strip down - it is an EA box Evan ?? Think it is when I saw it.
I'm surprised that box I overhaulled that BenJ has is still going okay after all this time.

Remember to select a forward gear before reverse - no crunches.
Would've been nice to see a Climate conversion go in while the dash is out.

Ditch those scotchlocks under the stereo - worse things invented IMO.

Yeah it's an EA box.

Unfortunately, those scotch locks came with the car. I don't like them either. One day I will get rid of them and re-do them properly.

Well, it's back together except for the centre console, as I have to pull it out again next week. Minor problem of setting the brake light switch, which wasn't really a problem.

Just a thought. Is it weird that my car has the dash tweeters but no factory sub?

My old EB Fairmont had the tweeters but no sub.

Only the Ghia got the amp, sub and stacker set up. The ED Ghia I have here had the amp and sub package but no stacker. It had the Alpine premium head unit in it.

Cheers
BenJ

Also, it has a slight oil leak...

Yesterday I got sick of looking at the bare auto gate. So, I stuck the manual boot over it.

Now that's custom 8-)

Cheers,

Evan

Thanks Lukeee and BenJ for helping out today. My car is now an XR6 Manual! Just.... The engine and gearbox is bolted in and driveshaft is installed, but that's about it.

Well Done Fellas!

All credit to you Evan and Luke for the assist.

I only dropped by to give some moral encouragement.

Cheers
BenJ

That engine leveler is a good bit of gear. The board to protect the condenser wasn't really required, although I still put it in place for safety's sake.

No worries Ev!
Glad to give a helping hand and learn a few things along the way :)
So the big question is, does it start?
Will have to come past so you can take me for a spin!
Cheers, Luke

You bet it does. And after a few teething problems it even drives forwards and, as an added bonus, backwards.

As I said, it had a few teething problems. Such as, the clutch cable settling in, which meant that the friction point was basically on the floor, which meant I couldn't get a gear. A little embarrassing when you are trying to turn onto Old Windsor lol. Got home at the next green light and readjusted the clutch. Seems to be fine now. I just have to remember how to drive a manual car now

Here's how I filled up the oil. I thought it was pretty cool. I thought that I would never use that pump again.

Goodnight!

good to hear its all going smoothly, watch that 3rd gear in them mate, had a problem with mine today, went to push into 3rd, and as i left the clutch out i locked up and car raved hard, you can guess which gear i really found  its the only problem ive had with 3rd apart from it not selecting once or twice with hard shifting but i adjusted the clutch and found it better
