Well, the EB has a little bit of BA in it now. I finally got motivated enough to install the above starter motor. After about 15 minutes and a good amount of cursing myself for doing up the bolts so damn tight, I extracted the offending unit.

You can see the size difference between the EB and the BA unit:

Tada!

The new one sounds a lot more refined than the old one. I guess that is to be expected with at least 10 years of development.

And since I was under there, this is the CUSTOM exhaust hanger. It's basically the auto one cut and shut to fit up to the manual mount. I welded it up under the car with my Supercheap Auto stick welder. It's crude, but it works.

Cheers,

Evan.

I put the hammer back in the shed this arvo. I had it in the car just in case it decided not to work again.

The bonnet is a bit. I have to do something so that mine doesn't look exactly the same as yours! My bonnet is currently sitting in the garage in primer.

Hahaha nice!
Primer has to be better then faded/almost non-existent black paint
I'm pretty sure mine gets worse every week...

Alright you caught me. I'll start at the beginning.

Saturday morning, I went to Pick and Payless to look for a front left hand indicator. I found the best one I could and pulled it out. Then I saw a NA Fairlane. I was checking it out and thinking Ooo that was a nice car and then walked off. Literally a second later, I thought, wait a minute, Fairlane = MPEFI and that plus NA 'Lane = EA intake hose! And what luck, it was still there. I only paid $16 for the lot.

After a cheese sandwich, I went around to BenJ's to pull the GHIA interior out of the poly green ED. This proved to be incredibly time consuming. Eventually, I got it all packed up and into my spare room. Nice lounge:

Ben and I discussed the possibility of bringing my car up to Ghia spec. He also showed me how to re-install the door lock snipper buttons properly, so that they go all the way down.

Hopefully it won't be raining tomorrow. Then I can at least get the back seat in. I probably should get some leather conditioner first.

I won't be changing the door trims until I source some electric window regulators. I don't want to put holes in the Ghia velour luxury.

Cheers,

Evan.

It stopped raining long enough for me to insert the Ghia rear seat into the XR. The leather conditioner really did a good job softening up the hide.

So here is a sort of before and after.

Image

And all done.

I am glad that I was good and used the snap lock bags to sort out all of the bolts, it made things go a lot quicker. Needless to say, I am very happy with the result.

The other thing I am happy about is the EA intake hose. It has made such a difference. The car is so much more responsive. This made for some interesting driving in the wet. Breaking traction on roll on throttle and so on. If had a turbo car I'd probably kill myself

Cheers,

Evan.

nice seats man, most of the time these seats are half ruined when i see them forsale. the intake mods are really worth while ehh? i did it to mine and it made a big difference across the whole rpm. power windows and ghia door trims are a nice mod, one day when i get around to fitting the rest of my window motors and fix a few things ill be purchasing some ghia door trims.
