Same thing was happening to mine Ev, Tried cleaning it numerous times but would just idle crap after a week so i replaced it with a genuine one i found on ebay!
It actually makes the car so much better to drive now :)

With those floor mats, let us know how they go as i've always seen them but they cost heaps!
Supercheap ones are crap haha :P

Cheers, Luke

Thanks for the info RE the ISC. I shall take it under consideration. I'll see how the cleaning goes first though. It's good to know there is a back up plan though.

Ok, I cleaned the ISC out today with carbie cleaner. I'll give it a week to see if it has made any difference.

This one's for you Lukee.

See ya crap Mats!

Image

I've upgraded to these.

Image

Very high quality carpet and they have a non slip backing that will not let the mat move. Previous mats moved around all the time. Even ended up upside down!

What they look like in the car:

I'll be doing a cooling system service tomorrow. It's just not keeping up with the air conditioning. So for the ultimate piece of mind, I am replacing the radiator as well. I also don't want to become a head gasket failure statistic lol.

Thanks,

Evan.

Not really spikes as such, but it is rubber and very grippy.

They look awesome Ev!
Think I might just stick to buying a set similar to your ones, I was looking at these...

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-TICKFOR ... 571wt_1037

Stuff paying an arm and a leg for car mats
(I realize they say EF-EL but they can be custom made according to the seller)

I did see those. Then I saw these. Then I thought, what's better? Tickford on the floor or $65 in my pocket.

And they are better than a transformer badge *snickers*

Taking advantage of my week off, I 'Nipped into NatRad' yesterday and bought a new radiator for the 'coon. I installed it today.

Out with the old:

The compost in between the rad and the condenser probably wasn't helping.

In with the new:

Removing the old one required some Jeremy Clarksonesque work methods. 'Where's my hammer?'. On the bottom hose, mostly. But, I got it all flushed out and changed over. Surprisingly, it went back together a lot faster than it took to take it apart. It's usually the other way around for me.

Thanks,

Evan.

Changed diff oil today, in my "Do stuff I've been putting off, but probably shouldn't" week.

Seems to have shut it up a bit and feels like it's locking up more strongly. And we all need more traction with this bloody weather we've been having. Hopefully Gerringong will be a bit drier tomorrow. Don't like my chances though lol.

I haven't checked the thread for a while, nice to see you still have the EB & working on it!

Mine has become a head gaskit statistic, I threw the alt belt recently & it got hot, think it's warped the head. Ah well, good excuse for a ported head & cam to go in I guess? lol

Cheers

Thanks, man! I think I will have it for a while yet.

Guy at work was asking why I was spending money on getting the AC fixed. I asked him what I was supposed to do. Spend 10 grand on a newer car, which might have different problems? This coming from a guy who borrowed 30 grand to buy a VE SS, and now he's trying to sell it.
</rant>

I like your thinking. 'That's stuffed. Oh well might as well get a few more horses out of it' lol.
