If I where to buy a cheap OBDII Adapter locally would I be able to pick up on the Australian Ford codes through the ForScan software still?....

No, the 1998 AU onwards weren't OBDII fully compliant until after the 2003 BA.

that's actually in correct, while the au is not full obd2 it still uses obd2 plug just different protocol. im running a obd2 scan tool on my au using forscan and it works fine

So just confirming for all : With AU Falcon, you can use ForScan, and you will get ECU, ABS and Cluster codes (SII onward) as well as BEM Codes (Smartshield Only).

You can also do an ECU Reset via ForScan to clear all learning.

Not bad if you spent $20 or less on your ebay obdII adapter. Im about to pick up a wireless one to run the iphone App.

(I have an AU V8 EEC in my EL Falcon with coilpacks etc, and an AU220 EEC in my BMW..)

Is forscan the one you need to subscribe to and pay for monthly/yearly?

Does it do keys on cars prior to in/out codes?

Cheers,
Tim

No to Keys... at least not on the two AU's I pulled apart.

Forscan is free for the PC App. There is some funcitonality that can be subscribed to.

Thank you for the information. I will make suggestions to Autofun, the automobile website, to include the car you mentioned in the web content. :D :D :D
