I have the Ghia rims - which i prefer, espcially once the dust covers are removed!, but the finish on one of them is a bit crappy, so stockies for now.

Quick update:

The stall convertor

(The first three shops are in Brisbane, JMM is in Melbourne)

Prices quoted so far
ASNU/Melva $1040 (3000rpm with lock up)
TCS $ 990 (3000rpm with lock up)
QCES $ 850 (2,800 or 3000rpm with lock up)
JMM $ 770 (3,000rpm ) (not sure about lock up???)

P.S: I dont know why the prices vary so much! :?

ASNU and QCES have been emailed with car specs and after two weeks I've given up with them. Looks like monday I will be ringing TCS

Well looks like on Monday (14/07) I will be ordering the $850 stall of 3000rpm with lockup.

Also I will be going to Willowbank this Wednesday, to get a pre-stall quarter mile time. If anyone else is going to be there, let me know, as it will be my first time down the drags, tips welcome!
See the Willowbank thread here: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... 6&start=80

Update:
Since I'm going to Fraser Island next month, the stall has been put on hold.
However I now get better (20.4ltr/100km LOL) since the 4.11s.
Before the 4.11s I was averaging about 21.6ltr/100km.

Your car sounds like it needs a tune bad cause your running such a big cam on stock ecu

my economy was 24L/100km, wouldnt idle when cold, blowing black s**t out the exhaust so a couple days ago i fitted a ChipTorque chip that was custom tuned with another cam i had..... and instantly fuel economy is 15L/100km, it holds idle when cold now and generally runs better.

Next week i will be getting it tuned again with the current cam im running and im sure fuel economy and power will be better.

Yea, I've mentioned that a piggyback tune is on the way, just have to decide on which one. Was thinking a Haltech...

did the speedo corrector make any difference to the shift points?

I would have thought it would hold gears for too long now....you installed the corrector between the VSS and the dash eh? or did u run vss direct to the ecu and correct the signal off this to the dash?

For those that are interested on how these mods affect an EL, read on...
    Highway Speeds torque convertor locked in 4th, light throttle :: 80km/hr 1950rpm; 90km/hr 2125rpm; 100km/hr 2300rpm
    Gear Changes (4.11s & Speed Corrector) Up 1st to 2nd 65km/hr; 2nd to 3rd 112km/hr
Gear Changes (4.11s & Speed Corrector) Down 2nd to 1st 50km/hr, whether foot or manual shift
    Gear Changes (Stock) Up 1st to 2nd 80km/hr; 2nd to 3rd 135km/hr
Gear Changes (Stock) Down 2nd to 1st 60km/hr via foot; 2nd to 1st 70km/hr via manual selection
Top speed @ ECU cut off (4.11s & Speed Corrector) 158km/hr (Willowbank)
Top speed @ ECU cut off (Stock) 210km/hr (Burnout Comp)

Speedo Corrector - Jaycar - Fitted so that Dash/Trip Computer has correct speed and Auto has correct shifts

Speed corrector is under the dash. In ELs the VSS signal goes straight to the dash and the ECU gets the signal from there. EL Ghia/XR6 computers are smart to learn the new shift points and rev/speed limits (as above)

WORKS PERFECTLY.

However I didn't connect cruise control back up - woops!

Its Fords service dash, has lots of different screens - Just turn the key to ACC and hold the odo button in for 10secs, release, press, release, press, release, press and hold till the seat belt light goes out and presto Ford's service dash

Im trying to bring up this Ford Service Dash on my Fairmont EL Ghia is it ACC or the ON position that you need to be on
