hey all this may sound like a real silly question but its legit ok how do i change the fanbelt in my 1996 el xr6 i cant seem to figure it out any help would be highly helpful

around the centre of the engfine fan belt area u will see 2 tensioner pulleys. the lower pulley has a 3/8" or 1/2" square hole in it. put a short extension and breaker bar on it and move it to loosen the tension on the belt,belt can then be removed. installation is the reverse procedure. on the inside of the bonnet there is a picture with the belt route if u have problems putting it back together.
