yeah i have looked into them but they are way to expensive for me
this guy has done it with a tbi, but its on a pinto http://www.retrotech.co.nz/Tech/throttl ... ection.php ive searched it up but people manly put hyubusha or similar throttle bodies on them. i might just go down to pick a part with my intake manifold and go threw the cars and look what looks easy enough to mod i was planining on running a t28 turbo as well on lowish boost can you please keep me informed how you go, if you do decide to do it btw whats megasquirt? |

This might be a crack pot idea but im just going to say it
what if i put this throttle bodie directly on top of my standard manifold verctically (facing up) and then tap some fuel injectors into the manifold near each cylinder, maybe even two per cylinder with a secondary ingage at like 3/4 throttle, and just run the turbo threw there onto the standard exhaust manifold with a little 45 degree extension at the end that chages the mounting plate and brings the turbo to a more flat postion. what do you think?, just say if its stupid |

actually that guys TBI setup is very good! i didnt find that while i was googling - i recon it would work well if you ditched one injector (with it being for and engine twice the size and all), a megasquirt is an open source aftermarket ECU its feature set and price are very favourable compared to commercial ones (but since its open source your kinda on your own).
your idea is on the right track but you still need some way to tune the setup or you will destroy your engine very quickly. best bet would be to get the car running EFI first (but design it with atleast 100% extra capacity that you dont need) then add the turbo later

i though he did a pretty good job, but it being with a 2 liter he had the 4 bolt hook up, where as we only have 2, coul i just and spaces and fil it out with a dremil to make it tapered perfectly, and just use 2 small injectors?
and i can seem to find what falcon he got it off, any ideas? ohk, so it just a standalone ecu for the fuel system? ohk, well ill look for a good small tbi, and try and get an ecu to run it off, im in no rush as i have alot of rust to deal with |

there are weber DGAV manifolds (twinthroat downdraft) to suit kent xflow and non xflow motors unfortunately there are none on ebay at the moment (a few on ebay.co.uk but shipping would be killer)
the falcon that CPI/CFI throttlebody came off is an EA/EB centrepoint injected model - my guess is that there would be quite a few members on here with leftover CFI parts from when they converted to MPFI, and there would still be a few in the wreckers.

theres no much point getting one of those manifold for me as, i would still have to mod it to except the tbi, so its kind of a was of money in my situation.
thanks, i spent ages looking for what it came off, and got no where hopefully there common, ill get two when i find them ,and the throttle cable matchs right up now ill search if they turbo the ea/ebs to see what they think about it you are a wealth of knowledge |

doesnt look too rusty, whats the heater bubble like? thats the hard stuff to repair.
i dunno if anyone has ever turboed a CFI EA falcon but with an aftermarket ECU running the CFI throttlebody it would work either way. if you need to keep it under 100KW a tonne id skip going turbo at all, you could disguise that CPI throttlebody and EFI as a carb and no one would be the wiser (and probably get somewhere close to the 90KW max for an escort anyway) that bloke was making 90HP at the wheels which id guess as around 120 at the engine (which is maybe 90KW) so a 1.6 would see maybe 70KW without some very major headwork The bloke in your link said he could have slotted the bolt holes in the throttlebody to suit the manifold so they cant be far off (and therefor not hard to modify) and probably heaps easier than making a custom one. judgeing by his pictures they only need to be slotted 5mm and there is plenty of room on the throttlebody for this.

i start out n/a and see how it goes, but if i get power hungry i know where my options are, i could just run the turbo on low boost for the dyno sheet, and tune it up for speacial events, would be nice to know i have some power.
ive got to get my hand on one from the wreckers to see what im up againgst and go from there |
