I have no idea dude, the actual shifter unit look HUGE! I was actually wondering myself if it will actually fit into the console but because i dont have my car back yet ( :x ) i can't have a go at fiting it. I may have to trim a bit off the base here and there, but alot of it is structural and cutting the wrong bit might weaken it. Running the cable 'should' be a pretty easy job though...touch wood.

The only way I can see it going in neatly is to use a manual boot.

Once the wiring and ecu work is done, can the knowledge be used to create a plug-in kit with instructions?

I can't exactly see the workshop in question giving out this sort of detail, and it'd be alot of work for fordman351!

He should expect/insist on a wiring diagram otherwise its going to be hell to fault find in the future.

Hmm, i can sense this could be an issue. Would they have to give me a complete diagram of what they have done to wire everything up? Or is it something i'll have to find out for myself? Might give them a buzz sometime and see what they can do, and how my car is going, it's been 4 weeks to the day on wednesday, and nothing yet.

saw ya car up there matt yes there has been work done on it so no stress mate was up there friday night with mine.

as has been said before, time = good workmanship so i wouldnt be getting all stressed about it just yet, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy it in the end.
