Yeah i have rung them once every week, i don't want to be a pain in the proverbial and have them wire in a bomb because i'm pissing them off haha.

Barry told me that it wouldn't cost more than $1500 to get everything done, so heres to hoping. As for a timeframe, they couldn't tell me, due to this kind of project never have been done before. Alot of it has been research so i have been lead to believe.

These kind of situations have been around for a long time, and i've been on both sides of them, unfortunately.

Some industries have worked out ways to deal with it, in the construction industry for example there are bonuses for early completion/penalties for late completion. It should be easy to negotiate something like this.

Another side of it is simply communication. It would be easy to negotiate a communication protocol. For example, it may be that they ring you once per week with an update; they may not like making the call to give not so good news, or have to remember to do so, but it would create much better relations.

There is some degree of power struggle/play and you've got to be careful you don't get dudded. Lawyers might say you've left yourself wide open with no finish date, eg. if they've done some work they could stop you from taking it back, until . . .
It sounds like they haven't been making time promises then breaking them, so you may not have a lot to stand on.

You could give them an ultimatum, finish it by such and such or i'll take it back, they are possibly even expecting you to do something like this by now. Or go in there and write down what they say on a diary! - how long will that be . . . scribble scribble.

But if others are having good experiences with them you may be fine. You could point this thread out to them and the potential loss of business if they don't treat you properly. I find that if people are short with me or use anger that's a bad sign, and i may pull out.

Express your side of the situation and your discomfort and make sure they acknowledge it, then go silent, they will feel pressured to then come up with a solution.

without being rude relaxed_diplomacy i believe the guys have been forthcoming with information, and as u have stated many many people have had good work done by them. Unfortunately with the way perth is with a labour shortage good work does take time.

Perth is the a** end of Australia... everything here is more expensive and takes longer..

I left QLD for a holiday to WA for 6 months... that was about 14 years ago now... perth is like a swamp, its fetid and sucks you in... :-)

some nice folks here though.....

Nice save haha, nice save :P

I do agree with 'relaxed_diplomacy', however in this case and at this point in time these actions are not neccessary. And being they are a sponsor of FordMods i'm sure they are going to be a trustworthy company to deal with.

LOL at the first bit. Ditto for the rest. Having said that, i think it is fair, seeing as though you had it booked in from the time the conversion was nearing completion. They said they could do it, so they should have just about got it well and truly sorted by now....IMHO...

A really good job does take time, whether it's body work, custom fabrication for whatever, but fair's fair!!!

Hope she's on the road soon,.. fordman.

Cheers

how bout you actually find out who BPT Motorsport are and stop living off other peoples bad press about them it seems everyone is willing to jump up and down saying how crap they are RE: mark154's issues in another thread and when he gets results eveyone is all geez these guys are gold.

sure all shops have and do bad work and cant meet deadlines geez i work in the parts game and supply most workshops and if we cant get it for 2 days then that must put back the deadline see a trend? or maybe there was a small drama in the middle of something that shouldnt cause one?

im sure they guys up there are working it out to best of there ability and are going to do a great job myabe they might release there findings on this mod so it can be done easier next time maybe not time will tell.

sorry to hi-jack your thread matt but i hate dealing with people that have a opinion about something they know F**k all about.

No worries Gav, we're all allowed to have and voice our opinions. I don't want to see this blow out into something huge, so if there is to be any discussion on it, please move it somewhere else, that's all i ask.

Anyway, now that my computer and camera are all happy and glitch free again, i thought some of you would be interested in what the BA sequential shifter looks like. It's a huge unit, i was beginning to get worried how i'm going to squeeze it into the console  .

Oh and this is my new project after the Fairmont is completed. It's a 1987 series 2 Nissan Skyline Ti. It's done 317,000km's but owned by old people (i know how overused the term is but its true haha). It runs like it did the day it rolled out the factory and it's sooooo smooth to drive. But between all my mates that own VL turbo's we can make a complete turbo setup for it haha, should be fun.

Mate, I'm assuming Dan is talking about Nick from XTC who took 9 months to fit and barely tune an ECU into his BA powered EA where he said Time doesn't equal good workmanship, and this will be interesting to see go, Ghia5L has the BA shifter in his EB if you need assistance Fordman351

Yup no worries, i'll do that as soon as i get home tonight.

I'll have to get onto Ghia5L sometime and see what he did to get the shifter in and operational.

These thing are nuts done up, my mate and I are doing one up for a drift car, if i didn't have a falcon i might just have one of these myself.

love to see a wiring diagram for the conversion too once its done, or if someone were to amend the retrofit tech doco on how to do this it'd be great[/url]
