Its a BA motor yes? the 185kw one?

isn't 3000 bucks a lot of money to get 185kw at the flywheel?

must have been einstein to figure this one out....

if the goal was only for 185kw at the flywheel im sure he would have just modified his SOHC engine....

No...$3000 is not alot of money when its $7000 dollars just to get 187fwkw. But think of it as future proofing the car. Basically what i have had done is like an aftermarket computer install, the BA ECU can basically be manipulated to do what you want, within reason. Makes boosting down the line ALOT easier.

Oh, the car has just rolled off the dyno, and the gearbox has packed it in. Aparantly there is some sort of solenoid failure, so wheather it's due to incorrect wiring or whatever, i don't know, but the gearbox had a full service and diagnostic done on it 2 weeks before i pulled it out of the car when i installed the engine and all was absolutely perfect. The car was stuck in third (limp home mode) and would not pull more than 3000rpm. So, fingers crossed that the gearbox is fine and nothing is fried, i've just been busting my a*** to get the extra funds to pay for this and if theres any more cost involved i'm going to be very very very unhappy.

So here's to hoping.....

In terms of turbo its easy, swap engine/ecu out for turbo items, get bpt to do the same tweaks on the tuner and you're away. And depending on how you've done the subframe mods you'd be fairly close to legal turbo except for maybe the fact that the ecu has been tampered with to make it run so it could in theory "not conform to ba emissions" (which if its getting a tune it wont).

about the auto, its been said time and time again on here that BA and E series/AU auto's are different, electrically.

Just fit a BA auto?

EDIT: actually from what i remember AU autos are different to E series, and im guessing that AU is similar to BA. BA Auto would obviously be the key

Go back and read my comments on the gearbox that may help.

Surely they would have roadtested it on the dyno.

If you ever need to get an emissions test put some acetone in the petrol tank, research the right amounts though.

Kills your emissions! :)
Apparently

From what I understand, when they do a proper emissions test, they clean room your car and use their own fuel.

That three grand is to join wires and make it all work, in short. I installed the engine and everything mechanical myself. That's not including the other four or so grand to buy the engine and related parts.

So all up it has cost around seven-ish grand.
