Ghia5L,

Interesting concept, if the dash can't be wired up to the ECU to show up the gear.

Fordman351, any progress on showing what gear it's in?

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Thank's Ghia5L, it's going to be a bit of a squeeze when i eventually get the box/tray made up for the shifter.

Shift display isn't high on my 'to do' list, i doubt i'd do it at all, but if the subject arises when it's time to get the car complied, i'll just throw the BA shifter surround/display on, then go back to the boot.

No updates on the car overall, it's just gathering dust and cobwebs. Money isn't coming easilly these days, so i don't reckon the car will be going anytime soon :(

Yeah it sucks when you need money you don't know when you'll have to get goodies for your car.

fordman351,

I know that feeling, my torana has been collecting dust & cobwebs for months now, haven't touched it as no $$$ to do anything. Just keep ya chin up, money will come along & you will get it all done!

Cheers

Another option for the gear select indicator is getting a wagon 3-hole surround (where the rear demist button & the auto aerial button go in sedans... 3rd button = wagon tailgate wiper).

Maybe a little LCD unit slotted in the 3rd button hole would work?

I was thinkin you could do this too. Use a PIC to drive 2 16 segment displays to give you a drive letter. Would be easy to get running in theory.

*Drags thread up and dusts off*

Things are finally looking up, i sold my EL gearbox which will be coming out on the weekend, or tomorrow night if i get enthusiastic enough haha, then i should be picking the new BA gearbox late next week. Then all that is needed is a couple of fittings made up for the transmission lines to the cooler, the box for the shifter and, if all goes to plan, fingers crossed, we should be in action....again....but probably won't be....again :x

Thanks guys, it's been a long time coming, but i somehow doubt the car is going to go anytime soon, just one of those feelings. I now wish i had stuck with an AU engine and a turbo :x
