Do you *need* to do that ? Once flicked to performance mode, you don't have to manually shift...in fact, I'd say manually shifting serves next to no purpose other than wank factor unless you need to tow something up a steep hill in low gear etc.

You are going to have a problem installing the EL shifter as the linkage is on the other side of the box for BA. Would be simpler to continue down the SSS path.

The seletor rod runs right through the gearbox and still sticks out the right hand side just like the old 95LE.

This is true, it may be a bit gimmicky, but the feature is there so i may as well use it if i can figure i out.

Yes it does but does not have a thread on it to retain the linkage.

You should be able to put the selector rod from the V8 in there - it still runs on the drivers side ;)

Well, the old shifter is back in, sorry to those who made offers to buy it. I managed to score a new linkage, but as you can see in the photos it had to be modified so as to clear the casting of the band servo. I'll tidy it up and weld up that hole near where i cut, just to make it a tad stronger.

Also this happened on the weekend. Very infuriating, someone cut behind me and decided to take some paint off my rear bumper. There's no major damage, just a loss of paint. They're just bloody lucky that the chrome strip wasn't damaged, or there would have been blood spilled. I got the guy's details, his car is owned by the city of Bunbury council, so hopefully their insurance will pay up to have my bumper resprayed.

It's just so hard to keep a nice car...nice, with all the bloody mindless imbeciles on the road.
