I must say, I'm very impressed of the outcome. keep up the good work mate!
Not many people would venture that far into that kind of modification.

Wooo! Fairmont owners rejoice!! Because of the way the bonnets are shaped (the raised section in the middle), only a small section of the bracing underneath needs to be cut for the engine to clear. No need to cut gaping holes into the bonnet!

Engine bay is starting to look more complete every day.
New power seering hose connected. Alternator connects up just like the old one. If you cut the fuel hoses right at the base of the threaded fittings the hoses will slip straight onto the fuel rail connections. The BA's just use hoseclamps to hold them on! |

Bloody rippa, I own a mont and have always thought with the different bonnet there was a chance a BA engine might sqeeze in there.

Sure man, no wories. Here's what i am going to cut out. I havn't worked up the courage just yet haha.
These are the Pacemaker 4495 extractors that i bought to suit the BA DOHC, i was surprised at the different pipe routes compared to the SOHC 4499's and also surprised that the 4495's fitted straight in! DOHC 4495's on the right, SOHC 4499's on the left. 'Custom' hater bypass haha. |

Oooh oooh! More news! I'm getting a Haltech E11v2! I've been assured it will be able to control the VCT on my engine.
Now, as soon as i can figure out how to attach the bloody accellerator cables to the throttle, i'll be laughing. |

Haha, yuss i have a dodgy stick-on bulge, very dodgy.....really! It's s**t haha Dansedgli, to be honest it wasn't me that made the call it was the workshop that is going to do the instal, i thought i'd just shorten the story a bit haha. I did explain to the installer that it was VCT and that it doesn't work like VTec, but now you have brought it up i'll have to make double sure! Better to be safe than sorry |

Did you tell them its not like Vtec yo? Okay just confirmed that there is a new software update for the E11 (v117) that includes the ability to program 2 VCT actuators. |

Can the ECU sense the position of each cam?
Fair enough if it can move them but what good is it if it doesnt know where they are? Oil temp, thickness, rpm all has an effect on the cam position so setting them up to move with a fixed pwm duty cycle wont be very effective. |
