Thanks Pimp, i'm getting a few annoying things that have been getting me down fixed, so i have a bit of motivation back now :D

Mitchell, all i have is a stock BA engine and transmission, nothing special.

he said that if he put the turbo on now the car wouldnt run becasue he hasnt got all the bits to complete the turbo set up.

the car runs now without the turbo.

Fordman,

Nice to read that your going to boost it. Boost is very addictive! I not long ago rebuilt my g/f's tx5 2.2 turbo engine with the help of my g/f's brother & dad. That thing flies on stock boost for what it is, and now it's run in we will wind it up a couple psi to 10 & have much more fun. Makes me wanna turbo my EB, but i gotta stop modifying my EB & get my turbo torana running.

The stock ford turbo doesn't look all that big, considering the power people are getting out of them. I can't wait to see this thing turbocharged.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Well done mate. Just read the whole thing. Sounds like BPT did an amazing job for you and so they can kind of be excused for the not so crash hot service. ( a fone call every now and then wouldnt hurt guys)

I was wondering... are you still having that problem where the auto wont change up in drive when you plant your foot? I got that problem in my BA XR6 a while back and it turned out to be a blocked cat. I know you probably have a new cat but maybe there is some other type of restriction holding it back.

Anyway great build thread. Im doing a turbo conversion on the 6 of mine now and it seems very very easy and straight forward. Good luck

Jay

Yes, the upshifting problem is still there and there's definately no problem with the cat converter as i don't have one haha, i think it's due to the fact that the differential ratios are different from BA to EL. I'm going to wait untill i get a tune when the turbo parts are all strapped on to have the problem fixed. It's not a major issue, i hardly drive the car that hard to have the problem arise anyway.

Do you have a thread going on your car? I'd love to see the progress and get some ideas and motivation. From what i have read and researched and like you have found, it's a dead simple process of getting the engine boosted. I wish you luck!

Thanks mate. I dont have thread going but i should proabbly. I just went to a wreckers and bought a xr6t written off for 3g. Been a*** ended and was folded all the way back to the back of the drivers seats. But motor is fine. I thought about doing a straight engine swap but ive already got cams etc. and a bit of work on the motor in it so im going to just change out all the go fast bits. But now i got intercooler, plumbing, ecu etc. so it should be very standard looking when im done. ill Post up picks and a doco on it wen im done. :) Once again great work with what you have a chieved so far :)

Jay
