Holden! There ya go haha. It's manual, very fun to drive, it's just something i don't have to worry about if i want down a gravel road or leave in the rain, it's my b**ch.

Yeah i'm kinda looking forward to it finally being finished, i've had enough of it sitting around doing nothing, ahh well, one day. By the way PM replied.

It's all finally happening now. Engine bay is being stripped in preparation for the bay to be painted. The battery tray is going and battery is being relocated to the bootspace, AU coolant bottle is being installed, engine block is going to be scrubbed and painted then have the sump tapped for the turbo oil return and a hybrid set of EL and BA heater pipes fabbed.

Progress so far:

You can do that. Easy, if you've even half removed an engine before, you'll have it done in no time. And don't engine bay resprays look the goods (especially if you get it done properly - although there's nothing wrong with POT BELLY BLACK out of a can, promise........)

Thanks Fiend, yeah i'm getting it sprayed professionally, the same as the exterior paint. Will look a whole lot better than the standard base-coat red and overspray from a previous fix (note front right corner of radiator support panel)

Love the progress Fordman351!

The reward of a cleaner engine bay will be worth the effort to hide all the wiring.

Cheers

Nice work there Daz, i was thinking about mounting the relays and fuses on the inside of the fender like you suggested, the wiring is pretty tight but i'll figure something out, thanks for the idea!

Thanks ToranaDude, sure will be worth the effort in the end, doesn't seem like it at the current time though haha.

Well, i've knocked off for the day, pretty happy with today's effort, tomorrow i'll get underneath the car and get everything ready to turf the engine. The battery tray is out, but the part that attaches to the chassis lower in the engine bay will have to wait untill the engine comes out as it's just to difficult to drill out the spot-welds neatly.

God dam fordman, your engine bay has major sex appeal with all the looms, battery and fuse box hidden or removed. I to hope to hide every bit of wirring when i get to it, and polish up the fuel rail and air manifold. Great work champ, always a pleasure to check out what you've been up to on the beast.

Regards Jared.

Thanks mate, happy to help. What you see is only half the wiring. Horn, ignition, etc relays, and main wiring loom are under the drivers side guard. Obviously you're putting the battery in the boot??

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words blokes, i appreciate it muchly.

Smithy don't worry i'm keeping tabs on what you're up to haha, loving your project. I have a spare fuel rail which i will eventually have polished, i'm not going to worry about the intake manifold as there will eventually be an aftermarket plenum going on.

Daz, looks a hell of alot neater hiding the wiring, top stuff. And yes the battery is going in a sealed vented box in the boot.

Well, here's todays efforts, stripped off all the small fiddly bits off the front of the car, tailshaft, exhaust, transmission cooler and lines and the transmission as well. Engine is now ready to come out. Just need a trailer to go pick up the engine crane lol

Drained ATF, took pan off to have a butchers.
