Tinkered around a bit tonight, rotated the comp housing of the turbo, started running and hiding some of the wiring and generally just tidying everything up.

Because i'm not utilising the BBM butterflies anymore, i've done away with the VSV and the tubing for it too. Just wondering what the little blue 'thing' is and is it an important part of the system? I have reduced those small black tubes down to two, to keep everything neat, hope it all works properly.

The blue item is the vacuum check valve so you don't bleed vacuum when at WOT.

Not sure as if it's for cruise control, as the EF/EL cruise modules were electronic. Unfortunately i don't have it anymore  god i miss cruise control.

So would i have to connect this to the rubbery line heading into the cabin? I'm pretty sure that one goes to the vaccuum ball in the drivers side wheel arch. But what about when the engine is boosted, i'll still need it then won't i?

I think the little thin black on is for the climate control. From what I remember it was the one that had me stumped. It runs right up to the CC unit. The other one.... no idea sorry.

One is for the Vacuum Canister in the guard

one is for the heaterbox controls (heater tap etc)

Don't forget you will need a vac line for a boost gauge.

Okay cool, the vaccuum canister and the BBM were on the one line, but i can't remember where the check valve was situated in the line and which way. Even if i do put in the check valve, the second line into the climate control isn't going to be protected against boost, will this be a problem?

Also, the PCV line from the rocker cover is plumbed back into the inlet manifold underneath the throttle, the other rocker cover breather goes into the intake side of the turbo, correct?

ALSO (and lastly) the fuel vapour canister, will that be okay plumbed into the intake manifold still?

I appreciate all the help lads, i guess there is still much to learn.

yep thats right.

it should be, the carbon canister solenoid should only open to vent tank fumes at cruise conditions, so when on boost the solenoid will be closed.
i cant remember but i think theres a checkvalve in that line too?

unsure on your climate control question,
got NFI on the EF/EL system, but it should have some sort of checkvalve as well i would have thought??

Okay, very cool! Thanks for clearing that up. I forgot about the solenoid for the fuel vapour canister, i've left it unplugged (and has been for months on end) as it clicks quite rapidly, not sure if it's a faulty or if it's something to do with BPT's wiring. Think i'll just leave it be.

Haha, nah that's all good. Not much progress today, i had to order in a banjo bolt for the turbo coolant return line, it turned up today (from the east) but it's the wrong size doh! All i did today was paint the ECM bracket. A day at a time lol.

might be a difference in how the BA ECU drives the solenoid compared to EF/EL?
