wow the au really looks like something it isn't (in a good way) looks like it was meant to be like that from factory or something.

ok so ive got a few weeks off coming up so iv made myself a list of things to fix... and as far as i know i can pick up the BA dash this weekend :D here is a few pics of the AUs issues...
Image
1 and 2 - hide/cover inside the grill and rear bar... i already have something sorted for the front...
ImageImage
3 and 4 - fix the dint some prick put in my boot new years eve and get the exhaust hidden under the rear bar ill keep the same tip
ImageImage
5 and 6 - replace the inner wheel gaurds as the rear dont match the rear bar and the front are a bit rooted
ImageImage
7 and 8 - adjust/straighten the rear bar brackets so it isnt hanging below the tail lights and replace the headlights and re spray the new ones bezals white (the old ones got damaged when i tried to tint them a few years ago... the tint sort of eat the headlight)

ha just went to open my boot to clean up the rear bar and see what i can do about the dint... opened the door and realised i have no dash atm lol... cant even put the seats done as it would be easier to put the dash back in than move the subs... looks like thats put off for another day...

- fitted rear power windows... wired up to the front 4 way switch aswell as each individual switch, created my own loom with speaker wire and im pretty happy with it... all the features work like the 60 second time out and the lock individual switches button... they were a bit slow so i covered them in some silcon spray and there moving a bit quicker but ill see what happens

- Rewired the sound system... the RCAs and speaker wire from the Amp are now running under the carpet through the center of the car so they arn't as long and shouldn't get as much interference

- fixed up the grill... now its just black behind it :) i cut down some of the white plastic the covered the rest with some black plastic strip that is meant to put across the top of the rear bar to stop it from getting scratched when putting shopping in the boot etc.

With the windows, just dump HEAPS of silicon spray into the channels. Use a whole can on the car, as in a quarter on each window. Should soon start moving better.

Your interior conversion is looking great. Not sure if you have covered this, but what are your plans with the seats? Do you plan to use BA/F Items? I'm curious what is involved in fitting them.

hi dan.. im not planning on changeing the seats for a few months and ill prob just go with some AU SR seats as they are black with a red pattern and are alot cheaper than ba xr seat and also dont require any modification... another option i considered is those fake leather seat covers on ebay but i think the sr seats will be more practical... there are a few people that have fitted ba seats to aus and have modified the seat rails... i know ronza on aff has put them in his au ute... so im not exactly sure of what has to be done...

Cheers Cam

Today i installed the SSL Kingsprings (all round) Sprayed the bezels of the new headlights white and put them in(i had tried to spray the old ones with tail light tint a few years ago and it had kind of eaten away , also replaced my front wheel arch guards as the old ones were cracked and the front of them had rubbed out on the wheels... so all i haven't done today is obviously wash my car lol...
