Picked up an old bloke's winter white fairmont about a month ago just in time to chuck the noob plates on. Will chuck some pictures up once i can be bothered cleaning her, so stay posted. Picked it up for $12,500 on the road with 110,000 k's on the clock, thought it was pretty reasonable for a dealer. She's stock standard at the moment but, considering it's my first car and i'm a naive teenager, i'll probably mod the s**t out of her. Planned mods include:

New amp and sub, eventually new speakers. (Any low budget suggestions??)
Force 6 style boot lip spoiler
Larger wheels (18 or 19 inch)
Cat-back exhaust upgrade

Suggestions for any P PLATE SAFE mods would be very welcome. :D

Decent! Sounds alright.

In regards to your naive teenage mods,
lol just go to JB or Autobarn for ya audio.
If you ain't gonna be competing, then you
don't really need anything spectacular.
Just go the usuals - Clarion, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.

Boot lip sounds alright too, you should check out Phat Customs.
I know of one in Dandenong. They do some mad fibreglass work,
pretty decent prices too, considering.

get a typhoon air box, they have 2 inductions into the box which means more air=more power,

I would go to Jacar for you speakers, Mod wise just go headers out to manrel bent exhaust, drop her on her a** and if your feeling like a bit more power go a J3. The i6 in the Ba with a decent exhaust will be more than enough power output for you until you become more experienced on the road and will sound nice ( I have been driving for 15+ years and I am still learning so please don't take offense). Better still it will produce more power and better economy. Go a K&N panel filter too. Cost you about $120 but they have a warranty for 1 million miles and do make a difference without being a cop magnet. Dropping it will pick the handling up and look nice but be careful of everything on the road because she will bottom out on the smallest bump if too low.

Yeah i was thinking of getting audio stuff from JB, my mate can get me some pretty deals. And competing isn't really my thing but i'm an absolute audiophile so i'm obsessed with sound quality. Cheers for the Phat Customs suggestion, i'll check them out. :)

bry40l, do you know how much induction noise you get out of them? Don't really wanna be a massive cop magnet. I was also considering the sneaky pod filter inside the air box mod.

Haha, no offense taken 79raven. :) I've been driving 4x4's since i was pretty young, i just about know my limits. So i'm a fairly safe driver (if there is such thing as a 'safe' p-plater). :D I was considering dropping her on her a** but if i drop even a cm or two i'll leave my exhaust at the top of my driveway. So that's pretty much out of the question. :(
