Out of, er, interest, did you guys order them from the states, or locally?

Haha, yeah mate they certainly look nice in the flesh. Was also pretty impressed with the yella terra platinum rockers, look pretty damn solid.

I also sourced all the parts through Dave at A1HiPerformance, was very helpful with advice on which parts to go for, and what will work with what.
Pretty good on pricing aswell.

Had a pretty good go at it today after work, got the box out first, engine harness off, all hoses etc. Just gotta get the air con compressor, power steering pump and bracket off. Undo headers, and undo eng mounts and its out. Got this week coming off work so it will well and truly out and ready to go to BPT. Wont be able to take it there for bout another week or two though as his flat out atm, work shop is chockers with cars and all engine stands are occupied lol.
Might strip the box down and have a look aswell, synchros are rooted and reverse has always been noisy.
Also gotta try get it to the panel/paint shop while the motor is out.
Gonna be a pretty productive week, hopefully, will keep this updated throughout.

Also clampy, if ya dont mind me askin, how much did the 3 inch cost ya all up, mild or stainless?

Cheers Jeff

when it comes to the bolt behind the power steering pulley, as has been said by others, and also in my own experience, swing it both ways with some spanner pressure on the bolt. - it'l come. took a while for me but it did give out in the end.

I have been told my 3" sounds bloody nice. Barks nicely when you hit the loud pedal, and nice & quiet when cruising at any speed.

I have a funny feeling your 3" may sound a little different than the rest of ours may sound, , just a sneeking suspicion

mine has that drone around 80 - 90kph in 5th

Is that what you're talking about XH4LWEPN?

I find dropping back to 4th fixes it nicely and then the motor's not lugging either.

Single 3" sounds sweet

id say thats more attributed to the non linear rate of boost(and exhaust gases) that your supercharger builds...

Quick Update.

Motor came out today. Had me brother in-law here lendin me a hand, had him swinging back and forth on the air-con/power steer pump bracket while i applied pressure on the spanner and the bolt behind the power steer pump pulley came with ease. Took off the bonnet, dropped the paceys off, undone throttle cable bracket, two nuts on the engine mounts and she was out.
Few pics from this morning below.

Next is to take all me bits down to terry for him to scope out, then wait for some room in his workshop (hopefully next week), so i can drop the motor off to him. Then its all go, hopefully will be able to get some piccies during the build process.
Will see the panel beater this week and then hopefully the ute will be out of the garage onto the truck and off to get a makeover.

Cheers mate, yeah certainly makes it easier having it all planned out.

Feel much better with the new exhaust? How far away is the tune?

nah not much drone at all actually. my brothers 6 cylinder drones more than my 8. its pretty good actually, and mine even finishes just after the diff. but yeah pretty good.
changes note around 3000rpm+/-, gets awesome after that all the way to rev limiter where the only reason it stops pulling is cos its not allowed to rev anymore.

Sounds good mate.
Are you using any sort of custom tune at the moment?
Would love see some pics of your ute.
