A 1/2 inch spacer does fit on an XH, no worries with an Explorer upper. I have built a tough XH XR8 ute mentioned in this post, and have tried many things, and know it works. The only reason it will hit the bonnet is if the engine mount breaks, but then it will only hit a second before an engine with a 3/8, or even no spacer hits. A spacer wont fit when you run a Cobra upper though... |

Small update, nothing too special but i promised i would keep posted throughout.
First of all i picked up my injector flylead adaptors from BPT, was quite suprised to fing they are a genuine ford racing item. Second, got a phone call from Dave today. Gave me the news that Leon removed the rear main cap to find a worn bearing and wanted to know what i wanted to do with it as im on a budget. Either put it back on and leave it or pull them all off and inspect and remove crank and mic up journals, which is what i got them to do. All journals mic'd up okay so a new set of KING main and bigend bearings will be going in for a bit of added insurance, also a Mellings oil pump has been fitted. Thats it for now, will hopefully update again tomorrow.

Motor is pretty much done and i'll be picking it up tomorrow. Just waiting on Ford Racing rocker covers and TFS 3/8" phenolic spacer so i doubt i will be able to get it running over the weekend unfortunately.
Got a few pics throughout the build that Dave snapped up for me.

Yeah well i thought i may aswell put a new water pump on it, at $170 trade price for genuine ford one from Covs i couldnt resist, even though Leon said there was nothing wrong with the old one (kept for a spare). The timing cover is the original one, just been bead blasted by Leon.
