Tuning yaself on the street could get a bit tricky, i know theres laws against the use of mobile phones while driving driving but what about laptops {USERNAME} wrote: It goes pretty well as it is now Clampy, ate the poor old TE the other night.

Not sure if Terry has already gotten onto you regarding this. But about the speed limiter, Terry couldnt seem to find this function on the TwEECer. Is it possible to bump up the speed limiter using the TwEECer, as i take you have read previous pages here telling why it was cuttin out at 5000rpm on the dyno preventing us from reaching peak power. Jeff Yep, still waiting for the .ccf file from him so I can check it out. Pete. |

Will carefully increase it if we can in 5-10km/h incriments untll we reach peak power. Hopefully wont have to take it much past 190km/h. no probs dude, just wasnt sure whether you were aware of it thats all. safety first. |

Going to get a stainless intake pipe made up tomorrow and am wondering what size to go for. Im guessing either 2.5" or 3". I'm running a 75mm MAF and a 65mm T/B. Obviously the 3" pipe will match my MAF size better, but then again the 2.5" pipe will suit the t/b better.
Of course there is gonna be a step down in size somewhere, but just wondering wether that should be straight after the MAF or just before the T/B. Need to know this before i go out and buy the hose joiner pieces today. Cheers Jeff

i'd go the same size as the throttle body myself. thats just me. something to do with air velocity bullcrap etc. but thats what i'd do
as the amount of air coming through the maf is graeter as a surface area, it should increase in velocity as the same amount of air is squeezed into the 65mm piping. in theory. |

I'd say 3"... because 2.5" pipe has an internal diameter of 2.380" which is approx 61mm.

Yep 3" is what i went for in the end. Used two 3" silicone pipe adaptors that fitted nice and tightly over the MAF and T/B, had to stretch them a bit but fitted up perfect. Now i just gotta get it polished up.
Also got the extractor leak all done which elimanated that annoying ticking noise. Havent drivwn it enough to really test it but on the way home all sounded sweet. So thats good news Dave . Also got a piece of 3" stainless that i'm gonna cut up into the bottom of the air box. Very happy with the whole job as it onlycame to $140 bucks, that inlcudes remove extractors and re-fit with new gaskets, make up the intake pipe and the extra bit of stainless, amazing what a bit of advertising on the front windscreen can do.

Gee don't know what you plan to do with that extra piece... Haha will find a use for it mate, even if i have to throw it had the head of the next commonwhore p-plater that pulls up beside me wanting a run . But seriously for anyone that isnt aware, wanting to know, or has any advise as to what mods i'll carrying out on my airbox to try and get some more air in this is what i'll be going for. Cut a rectangle out of the front face of the lower airbox and block the front off from the engine side to try and obtain as much cold air as possible. Also cut a 3" hole through the bottom of the air box and follow through into the wheel arch, insert the straight piece of 3" pipe with a flexi pipe going from underneath airbox to lower left hand duct on the front bumper. As far as snorkle goes, i'm not gonna fork out for a brand new SS inductions kit, so i'll just keep and eye out for a secong hand snorkle from the kit or even a tickford AU one will do. I'm sure this is gonna supply enough air once finished and will be more than happy if it takes me even the slightest bit closer to 300rwhp even if its 2-3rwhp .

All going well Dave, havent even driven it since i picked it up from Doms Monday arvo. A mate came around wednesday arvo and we polished up the intake pipe that Dom made, boy did it come out nice, made the intake manifold look like s**t lol. Will be modifying the rest of the airbox over the weekend, i've also got to put a gearbox back into a mates AUII XR8 tomorrow after work . So far i think ive done just under 300k's since its been going. Gotta start saving up for the respray .
