Well guys thought i'd just post up to let everyone know the ute is still running and going hard to say the least. Only a few small problems that i will get sorted as soon as i have the time, it develops a bit of a tap/tick once warmed up which i think is the rocker clearances etc, and the only other problem being that once warmed up(strangley enough) it wants to stall when clutching in while slowing down. I have just been avoiding this by just trying to keep the revs as close to between 750-1000rpm as i can while coming to a stop, either by using throttle or transmission.
Other than that it has been a dream, still gotta modify the airbox somehow, havent started it yet as im thinking of going to a BA pod style airbox. Then get it back on the dyno and find the real peak power. So far the bummometer has been giving a high reading. Didnt fully realise how well it goes untill i came up next to a couple of XR6T's, which both fell victim to the little windsor. One i'm assuming was a standard auto sedan, and the other being a modified manual ute, dont know what mods it had but all i know is it was making a hell of alot of noise and got alot closer than the previous sedan. Well i'll keep posting up as i progress, although all the $$$$ i get are funding the full respray so engine mods etc are sorta being put on hold, but its all cheap mods and tuning left to do so thats good. Jeff

Cheers mate, much appreciated. Once this re-spray is done its gonna be time to start on steering, suspension and brakes. Although, depending, some of that may have to come first.

Hey Jeff, great to hear you're having so much fun with the big girl! Just a thought on it wanting to stall on slowing down... I've found mine does the same when switched to the standard tune on the tweecer. When I have lights on and stereo going and everything else going, volts drop and it wants to stall unless I have a few more revs on... Could your problem be the same?
Chad

Well guys the stalling issue has been solved , just bumped up the base idle from 790rpm to about 900-950rpm and all is sweet. So much more of a pleasure to drive not having to worry bout stalling when clutching in etc. Also went out and took a few piccies of the ute up at a favourite spot i happened to come across one time while at work. Heres a better one of the engine bay now its been tidied up.

Going to come and show it off to me one day? Cheers Dave. Its bloody hard for me to get a chance to bring it down, working all week and every saturday. Will hopefully get some time off soon during the week and i'll bring it down and show it off. I really wanna get it all re-sprayed before i start showing it off too much, atm the paintwork really lets it down.

Just got the net back at home. Good to hear it's all working well man. Sounds like it's a bit of a monster with more to come. It's good to see more WA Windsors pumping out some figures.

On the proper tune it's bumped up to about 900 but the stock tune she won't idle for too long.

I'm pretty keen to get this true peak power thing over and done with to see what its really making. {USERNAME} wrote: Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at in the previous post. Yeah a bit strange seeing as though you arent running an aftermarket cam or anything, although not too sure why you would want to use the std tune, i never change mine unless i need to put it in valet mode. {USERNAME} wrote: Are you removing and filling the taunaque(spelling)clip holes when you get the respray done Jeff
Yeah mate all the tarp hook holes will be deleted as well as the tow bar hole in the rear bar.

When I got the car back after it was tuned it was in the standard tune and I didn't realise.
The cam isn't what causes it to cut out, it's the underdrives cos the alternator is running slower. Well, I'm assuming that's what causes it on mine...
