In regards to the Ball for the TB, go to any good carby shop, as redline sell a simple replacement ball for holleys, and they are a bolt on job. For the EGR, I drilled and tapped a thread, then took one of the studs from the old EGR and bolted it to the side. Used some alloy bits i had lying arond and made a spacer so the Cable pulled to full open and bobs your uncle.
Hope that helps.

Brett

Cheers Brett will be getting onto the install throughout the weel.

Well just got back from the Motorplex and boy am i happy. It was an absolute ripper of a night, not even 100 cars, awesome weather and no hold ups, managed to squeeze in about 10 runs and still left at 8.45.

To top the night off i got myself a new PB of 13.6@104mph with a 2.29 60ft. Still a little bit of wheel spin in first but help up well, its hittin 2nd that is a PITA, is spinning for a few metres then hooking up. I think next time i'll go with some MT streets on a set of FTR's and seeif that fixes it, and for the street i'll get a nice set of 265's for the 18's.

So she'll come off the road this week. Pull the upper manifold off, pull the rocker covers off, check lifter pre-loads etc, replace fuel pressure reg with a andjustable BBK item i have sitting here, modify and fit the 70mm T/B and EGR then get the AEM sensor fitted then finish off all the wiring for it. I spose then it'll be back on the dyno for a re-tune to see what we can get.

Does anybody think the 70mm t/b will rob torque/horsepower instead of improving it on my current set-up?, remebering it will be fully tuned to suit.

Also while im here i'd like to say that a good mate of mine ran a best of 14.3@97mph in his manual AU XR8 220 with only extractors, cats, twin 2 1/4", SS inductions and K&N filter. Also running an Extreme ceramic clutch and billet short shifter. I think that is an awesome time, especially being his first time down, still had two 12" subs boxed in the back and is pretty big boy aswell. I was very impressed, wheres "t2te50", waiting upon you to tell me that time is s**t..................................

Im not entirely sure to be honest, i'm assuming it could be 70mm as the 220's used the 70mm t/b but then again they could have been machined to suit.
Either way i wont be hitting it with the die grinder, will handball it to the old man to take to work and machine it out.

Just pulled the upper manifold off and while i was there i measured up the inlet behind t/b and can confirm it is 70mm :) .

Lucky,that save's you some machining time. :D
The series 1 explorer i've got in the shed is 68mm. Something to look out for when buying one then.

Well done on the time dude!

After speaking with a few people around the traps when researching for my motor, I think 70mm would be spot on for your setup. Obviously I'm not speaking from experience, but I'm a good listener! I've been told by everyone that 70 will be perfect for me, but 75 could see me going backwards down low, all for a few extra kw up top. Not an option for me.

Thanks mate, i never thought i'd run the 13.6 in full street trim.

As far as the 70mm goes i think i should be alright, after all the AU 220's run 70mm as std and have awesome low end torque.

I bet your mate is still scratching his wad at how I did it? Keep trying. My car ran CONSISTENT 14.5's and a best of 2.1 second 60ft.
A freshen up will hopefully see a flat 14 or even better!! :P

Last time I checked, 14.3 is better than 14.5... :?

What do you mean by it "RAN consistent 14.5s"? What does it run now?

Haha, you entertain me mate.

Runs in order of the night, 14.6@94.8mph 2.4 60ft, 14.5@96.4mph 2.3 60ft, 14.7@94.0mph 2.5 60ft, 14.5@96.6mph 2.4 60ft, 14.356@96.87mph 2.2 60ft, 14.4@96.5mph 2.3 60ft, 14.4@96.4mph 2.3 60ft, and that was it for the night. Now you tell me the consistency wasnt there, also remembering it was his first time.
You say you managed a best of 2.1 60ft, can you imagine if he can hook up like that off the line and make a 2.1 60ft, i think a 14.2 would be the result of that.

Either your track is ridiculously quick or your mates car has more mumbo then the standard fare.

From his lax 60ft he SHOULDN'T get any better then a 14.7!!!!

I've got two slips....

60ft 2.178 / 2.178

660ft 9.258 / 9.274
123.09km / 122.62km

T 14.352 / 14.380
155.7km / 155.04km

Pretty consistent for a pretty average steerer.

His trap speed is a touch higher at 156km/hr, would've made up that extra tenth at the 60ft time.
