Should be 36-40psi at idle with the vacuum port disconnected. I run 38psi like that

Brett s**t, with the vacuum port disconnected? That'd bring it down to about 32psi or so with vacuum re-introduced. I set it to about 43psi without vacuum, then re-connected vacuum which brought it down to about 39psi.

Reason for vacuum port disconnected is that no vacuum equals wide open throttle and vacuum equals idle. So you want low pressure at idle and big pressure at WOT

Fuel pressure depends on who/how your injector slopes are set.
The std setting is 39psi with vac unplugged, and unless you are running out of injector capacity, there is really no reason to change it . Bear in mind that increasing this number has the same affect on the tune as changing to bigger injectors, so significant changes will need a re-tune. TerroristGHIA wrote: So you want low pressure at idle and big pressure at WOT
What you want is the same pressure drop across the injector regardless of vacuum, no vacuum, or boost. The std setting of 39psi is not the outright fuel pressure in the rail, it is the difference between the pressure in the fuel rail, and the pressure in the intake manifold. Its the job of the fuel pressure regulator to dynamically increase/decrease the fuel rail pressure as the manifold pressure increases/decreases (with throttle position, engine speed, etc...) so that the pressure drop across the injector, and therefore injector flow rate e.g. 24lb/hr, is consistent. |

Well got the ute back from Dom @ Prestige exhausts after having the wideband sensor fitted. These guages are heaven sent, what a great piece of gear they are.
The AFR's are all sweet aswell, idle sees it around 14-15:1 (fluctuates like the idle lol), cruising sees it around the same, full load @ WOT sees it richen right up to around 12.1:1. Coming off the throttle makes it lean out abit to as far as 15-17:1 but only for a split second then it comes back to normal. Main thing i'm happy about is that its nice and rich at full load so i know theres no chance of damage. Also tailpipes have been removed, not too happy with the sound, WAAY too droney. So i'll polish the tailpipes up ASAP and get em back on

Alright tailpipes have been polished and re-fitted. Took a few hours on Saturday but very happy with the finished product, also sounds and goes much better with them back on.
Heres a few pics, first one pictured with the weapon of choice.

How about a pic of the back of the ute with them on.
Any reason why you went for them coming out on the same side?

Any reason why you went for them coming out on the same side? Not much to look at from the rear, just two straight cut, polished 2 1/4" pipes. Only went for same side exit to keep original exit hole in rear bar.

Theres a custom one with twin rear exits and number plate recess in the middle that pops up on e-bay every now and then for around the $550 mark plus postage to get it here. Would be nice but i got more important things to spend cash on at the moment, its definately something to consider when it comes time for respray.

Just a quick question fellas, which moron told u guys to get adjustable roller rockers? Wouldn't be easier not to mention more UNIFORM to get non adjustables and just muck around with push rod length. That way preload is the same all round?
No rocket science just common sense. |
