Well he is actually getting some sort of traction on the gear changes now as well, I guess thats a start too.

He is also running smaller wheels with real rubber on it, not low profiles either, which helps.

Oh and non stock cam, non factory heads.....

Results:
Jeff is getting them
t2te50 isn't

Talking yourself up:
Jeff didn't so much. Got the combo done, and got the results (see point 1)
t2te50 talked till his jaw was more sore than the lady boy he "conviened" with, and didn't get the results (see point 1)

Anyone else smell jealousy?

Lets keep everything above board.

1) No slicks
2) Standard diff

I've seen Jeff's car run at the drags, and I've also been privileged to drive it. The ute is what it is, and runs the times with standard 3.45 diff gears and standard wheels.

If you can't believe it you need to learn how to launch a car at the drags. I told Jeff he needed to abuse the clutch through the first 60'. He did that and he dropped 0.2 off the 60' times.

On AFF there was a guy in Sydney with a STOCK T3 who ran a 13.1.... I guess he was cheating too hey?

I'd also suggest the replacement 'box that's gone in may play a part

Well, I was thinking along the lines of you saying earlier that it felt like a better box. 1st to 2nd was smoother or something. But the oil, yeah... :P

Nah nah, There wouldnt be no difference in the box, ratios etc are all the same. The box thats in it now i cannot see it contributing to the 13.3.

Nothing has changed under the bonnet lately. Only underneath the car with the addition of the rear swaybar which has made an unbelievable difference, its going back this week or next to get the front done aswell as a heap of other bushes. So funds for anything else are on hold at the moment, therefore racing this season for the ute is done. Hopefully during the break i might be able to get the Oztraks done and get some Hoosier's ready for September. TKO and KAAZ diff are getting further away.

All the front bushes were done aswell as the fitment of the 30mm whiteline front sway-bar. Now the handling of it is awesome, who said leaf sprung cars cant handle??.....
The rear has really stiffened up around corners with the fitment of the Whiteline sway bar. Holds the rear end flat while cornering which is eliminating the inside wheel trying to turn by itself, now it wants to try and turn both, as it should.
The front is nice and tight now, turn in feels alot better with all the bushes done and body roll has signifigantly reduced with the bigger sway bar. Also feels alot better on the brakes too.

After i got the ute back from getting the suspension done i noticed abit of a knocking sound coming from underneath passenger seat over bumps, that was during last week. No i hadnt driven the ute since untill last night i thought i blow the dust of it and take it for a cruise. Got about 5-10kms away from home, the whole time the knocking was present over bumps, when i thought i knew what the problem was. As i was quite confident in the work carried out by WA Suspensions i was pretty certain it wasnt suspension related and after listening closer to it i said to the missus "I bet its the rear trans crossmember. I bet the bolts are loose and its jumping up and down" So i decided we'd turn around and head home before it got dark so i could jack it up and check. On our way back, about 8kms away from home, fair enough i hear the noise of a bolt falling from underneath by car, bouncing up and down off the road hitting the underside of my car and then the gear stick slanted to the side. YEP, i was right, the damn rear trans crossmember. I managed to pull over into the next street up onto someones front yard (gotta love the lawn haters who pave there whole front yard). Now the utes too low to get under and check it out but i knew that it was definately that, with the shifter handle sitting to the side and the box bouncing up and down. So i rang the old man and got him to load the jack into my work van and bring it all to me, i also rang a mate around the corner who brought the axle stands and a decent source of light (a 10 million candle power torch done the trick  ). While waiting i ran back down the main road and found the crossmember bolt that decided enough was enough.
So fair enough there i was, just gone dark, out the front of someones house, a*** end of the ute 3 feet in the air on stands and me and my mate laying underneath.
It was the drivers side bolt that had fallen out and the passenger side bolt was almost all the way out just hanging on by a few threads. Both bolts went back in sweet and tightened right up. We packed up the roadside assist team and we were on our way, job done.
One day this week after work ill be getting back underneath the ute and pulling the bolts out, checking the threads on both the bolts and the nuts in the chassis, then re-fitting them with loctite and this time make SURE they are well tight.
No i'm not sure if they had been tempered with by the supension guys (i cant see why they would have), so i'll be asking the question when i go back this week for the missus car. If not, either i didnt tighten them up enough when we done the gearbox swap or somehow they have managed to come loose.

Thats the latest excitement from the ute. At least IT still hasnt let me down, this time it was either me or the suspension guys, but im guessing this ones on my head.

Also started to deposit cash into a set of Hoosier DOT drag radial in 225/50/16. Should hopefully have them paid for by September so they'll be fitted up to my FTR's and ready to hit the track.

Nice save there Jeff.

The swaybars and bushes are a good upgrade then? I got a quote a while back for it all and that's about as far as I got with it.

September can't come soon enough!

Yeah was pretty lucky. SO glad the 2nd bolt didnt fall out, would have been damn messy if it did.

Yep sway bars are an awesome upgrade. The front wont help on the track though as it will reduce the ability of weight transfer. A good trick for the track is to remove the front sway-bar all together so i cant see a stiffer unit helping it out any. But after all they are street cars and the swaybars feel awesome on the street.

Next mod to the ute, two new tyres for the front. Going with Regal Racers in 235/40/18. Brother-in-law had them on his BA XR6 and loved them, i love the look of them too, nice agressive, track looking tread pattern. I priced them up only a month or so ago and they were @ $220ea so i was suprised to see Ian Diffens new catalogue had them on special for $159 fitted and balanced. Good luck to anyone in Perth wanting some though, out of 14 stores only one store had 4 left, so i snapped up two, going on tomorrow.

Once they are on i'll put a few more k's on the new suspension bushes etc and then its to go in for a check-up/retension.
