i cleaned the wheels up today with Maguires mag wheel cleaner (acid one) and they came up a treat. they still need more work on them but its a huge difference already. one mag seems to be stuffed, so i may end up swapping it with the spare.

well i put the kenwood headunit in today, however i found a new headunit at supercheap (JVC) so i wanna buy that this week.

the fronts im putting in my kenwood splits and i have already put the JBL 2 ways in the rear. the speakers will be run off the factory ford amp.

i have 2x MTX 12 inch subs ready for a new box. and they will be run off a MTX monoblock.

why do you post the exact same s**t on here and on Ford Forums ?

I've never understood the fascination with these fairlanes, honestly i think they look extremely ugly. Good luck with the project though.

well i treated myself to another late birthday present... a NEW headunit. i went to supercheap the other day and the JVC headunits got my attention, being the 07 series. so today i went in and bought one. MP3, front AUX, sub control all the usual crap lol.

i got it all installed along with new RCA's and rewired front splits (still factory) within a hour :P

tiny assed remote which ill lose in no time

also chucked in my EL selector... still need to hunt down a center bar for it

well i replaced the power window regulator in the front passinger window and it now works sweet. i also replaced the brake light switch after it p****d me off the other day chris gave me the tip of covering it in WD40/RP7 and it went in alot easier. while i was down there i noticed the messy alarm system wires sitting down there so i untangled them and cut them. then the car wouldnt start (figured it wouldnt) so a bit more looking i found an adapted plug where the wire tapped into - it was basically an extension between the 2 plugs, so i unplugged them and joined the plugs together and bingo started first go Cheesy i removed 90% of the wireing and its alot neater under there now.

i bought a dual sub box today and fitted the 2 MTX subs and mounted the amp to the back using shallow screws so it doesnt go right through the box. looks really neat now. plastic panels go back in tomorrow.

im hoping to book in the lane for a new exhaust tomorrow. looking at 220 for a 2.5 inch cat back sports system. if i cant get into that place tomorrow ill try the other place thats closer to me but they want 260. not a major issue aslong as i can get it in tomorrow or monday so i can organise RWC mon or tue next week then rego by the end of the week.

not long now. also got some gauge pods to mount my gauges i have had here for a while. so now i will have constant read out of volts, oil pressure and amps. not yet 100% where they are getting mounted but its not going to be in my way or too far from the windscreen (dont wanna look away for too long)

hopefully a few days after she has rego it should be dumped on ultralows.

pics of the new sub box and gauges tomorrow when my brother returns my camera
