G'day Huggie,
Those EL seats look fine as they are....don't look out of place IMO. You thinking of throwing in NL leathers now I take it!
MRE-50L still has his DC leathers if ya keen for a trip to Sydney :P I don't need em anymore :)

well finally a desent update... the fairlane is FINALLY getting a dose of T5... thats correct, after over 12 months of it sitting here i have finally sourced all the parts needed for the conversion, so with the help of jason (xflow) we will be throwing it in, replacing the rear main seal and brakepads in the process and possibly the front swaybar bushes.

so the old girl should have a bit more go... so it looks like i might be going back to the EA-ED style console soon. im kinda getting annoyed with the uglyness of the gap on the EL one. but we will see

oh also forgot to mention, i somehow thought it would be a good idea to reverse into a metal lipped drain while looking at houses the other day... so there goes my 95% treaded tyre... so now im running miss matched treaded snowflakes till i can source another goodyear regatta R1 tyre cheap or 2 matching tread 15's...

yeah should compliment a 3.45 ration LSD.. but im stuck with 3.23's for now, i should be picking up a LSD center today so i can slowly build a new diff with decent gears to drop in at a later date.

well no T5 yet.. the person who said they had all these parts for me and made me stop searching decided not to make good with their promise so again im stuck with no clutch bolts or console pieces... not a happy camper.

but on a lighter note over the new year period i bought a new amp and swapped a mate my old MTX subs for his JVC subs which are DVC so i can extract more power from the amp :D i installed it all today and what a difference it makes. im quite pleased with how its turned out. now all i have to do is add a third set of RCA's to run the rear speakers then i can start playing with the amps.

Phucken typical. You wouldn't believe all the dramas I had with similar little niggly bits and bobs. Seems to be the common way of doing things unfortunately. XFWAGON from Duno's, NZ just got his V8 T5 "kit" from Aussie and is now trying to find money for clutch parts and NZEA bought XFWAGONS I6 "kit" from him and is now trying to find various little bits too. May have to start making my "Fiendwood pin" professionally and give Mal Wood a commission to stay on talking terms with them.

I have a T5 installed without a dust shield and a couple of other bits...

What do you need clutch bolts for? Any half decent garage should have a selection of bolts with threads and lengths to suit... Which bits are you talking about when you say "clutch bolts"? If it's what I am thinking of, then you can find others to suit very easily.

Be happy Huggy. Sounds like almost everyone with a T5 has to have it sitting in a garage / shed / back paddock under oily rags and tarpaulins for a period of three months minimum.

It's a rite of passage.

And mate - """replacing the rear main seal""" makes sense to me, but """brakepads in the process""" seems like a little off topic! If you're having trouble sourcing brake pads for your T5 conversion, I'd suggest you shoot the acid dealer who sold you the dodgy stuff off the bottom shelf.

HA.. 3 months... im going on 2 years.... the bolts im missing is what holds the clutch housing to the flywheel... without it nothing works.... i found a bloke in the US that does the clutch bolts for about 15 bucks AUS$ but there is 2 thread types and i have no idea what ones. so i might have to bite the bullet and buy both styles...

update time...since i last updated i have added some dpot lights to the front due to the area im currently living in and the crapness of the stock headlights.

i reipped the interior out of the wreck NC i bought and put that in as i didnt like the EF seats, i still have to change the rear upper seat.

then i added some bonnet vents...

Hey Huggie

Good job with the vents.

Now pull your finger out and finish the rear seat swap.

Keep up the good work.

it would have been done but it kept raining when i was doing the interior (swapped carpet too) and i had to fit the car seat very soon after doing the swap.

i would have thought it would have been pull your finger out and put the T5 in lol. im still chasing console pieces and the rubber boot for the floor to seal it up if anyone has some. so basically everything interior wise apart from the T5 stick itself... need a gear knob too lol

Hmmmm, There is a factory Le Mans Red EA Fairmont Ghia with a T5 at Pick N Payless that had the rubber boot on it still. Will see what I can do.

As for a gear knob, just by an aftermarket one. Cheap enough and plenty of styles to choose from.
