well im over my daily wagon, with the week and a half of rain the floor is like a fish tank, so i thought instead of pouring more money into the wagon when i could be focusing on the fairlane.

plans for now are to get it back on the road, new ball joints, top and bottom, throw the FTR's on there, replace the head gasket on the EF motor and throw it in, replace the headlining and probably throw the wagon up on ebay, either that or ill strip the dash out, seal up the window, fix the rust and turbo it.. still undecided on that part, but for now ill fix the lane up ready to go

is happily sell the wagon and buy the lane, but show me someone who will pay micks asking price on the lane for a CFI 3 speed auto leaking wagon? lol

im pulling panels off over the weekend as i think i found the leak. if i fix the leak ill throw the EBII motor in and T5 and go from there, still get the lane on the road, but i think im more likely to sell a MPFI T5 EA wagon with no leaks

well i have some more fun happening shortly, tomorrow an EF Futura Sedan arrives, which ill be removing the dash, console, loom and seats/trims from it and installing them into the fairlane along with the heater core so it fully works. and since my heater and stuff doesnt work in the lane at the moment (well cant change it from demister) i dont mind loosing the climate control and digital dash. i still need to find 2 grey rear door trims to suit power windows but that can wait for now

the car was rolled but the motor box and everything below the bottom of the windows is fine (except panels are dented) so added with the EF motor and box i have sitting with the fairlane i can run the full EF setup, with coil packs. i have the EF fairmont ECU from the motor, and also the futura one with the wreck.

so will be a fun weekend ripping everything out of the sedan. if anyone needs anything shoot me a PM and ill see what the parts are like. things like rotors are taken, there is thermos, radiator, gearbox (well i have 2 or 3 spare box's)

ill throw up some pics tomorrow once it arrives here

dash, console, heaterbox and entire loom is out, motor and box is out and the shell is ready to be towed away

i am in need of a few bits that got damaged while i was out today (which is why i hate kids touching my things)

i need the engine bay aircon lines along with condenser (cylinder unit thing) and most importantly a new dash itself from any model. due to the car being rolled it became brittle and as i was carrying it today it snapped in my fingers, but i have all the loom there so thats the important thing.

tomorrow i head to my parents and move the fairlane onto the newly cleared slab of concrete and then the fun begins, motor removal, dash and loom removal, interior removal then re-fit the new loom and motor. interior and dash can wait until i find a new dash pad

got the motors sorted today, and moved the fairlane.. what a mission that was. i swear god hates me, every time i went near the motor or the car it would piss down rain.. funny how we had no rain for 4 days but as soon as you go to work on something it rains

moving the fairlane was a mission and a half, bogged down deep from the 3 weeks of non stop rain, exhaust was stuck in the ground, so i jacked up the car and moved the exhaust and then tied it up off the ground got it till the front wheels were touching concrete before it wouldnt move any further, so i jacked it up and put some inflated tyres on the front, and put planks of wood under the rear tyres then drove it up.

all is set to go for removing the motor and box over the next few days if rain holds off.

LSD FTW

EF wreck is gone today so got the driveway back lol

today's progress was pretty eventful, spent about 4-5 hours total on it

first up removed the motor and box, and since i couldnt be stuffed laying down in coolent i removed the intake manifold from the motor so i could access the engine mounts easier

came out with no issues, then i started to clean the bay first as some of the wires were covered in old and grease, then i spotted the rust in the battery tray and decided it had to go. so no going back now, i grabbed the grinder and removed it. the battery will now go into the boot, ill run 2x 4g wiring, 1 to the starter and the other to a distro block to power everything else as per factory

then where there was bare metal and the surface rust on the chassis from where the exhaust melts the paint, i gave it a coat of chev V8 blue as repco had it on sale for $3 and it was the last can. i actually love the colour. looks hell nice...

anyways here is pics:

tomorrow the plan is to remove the interior and dash aswell as the body loom, then start cutting holes for the loom and covering any unused holes with flashtak kinda like dynamat but at 1/10000th the cost lol
