Looking good dude. I'd love to give the engine bay a bit of paint on the EB Ghia, as it's looking a bit shabby after 17 years, but too many other things to do first. :(

Cheers

todays update:

dash is out
heaterbox is out
loom is out
EF heaterbox is re-foamed and installed

a bit of slow progress due to rain on and off for the first half of the day. i had to stop as my hole saw is blunt so i need to go buy a new one so i can cut the hole for the loom to go into the cabin.

i also picked up some goodies from jaycar,
4 ring terminals (4g)
2x 6-12mm metal cable glands for where the cables will pass through the fire wall.
went to jb hifi and picked up a stinger SPD815 distribution block (1x0g in and 3x 4g out)
still need buy some 100-120amp circuit breakers to throw in the lines, ill need 3 of these, one for the starter one for the accessories and one for the amps. but i do have a US audio fuse block with 0g inputs and on a distribution block and then has 2x 120amp fuses off it to 4g output on each one that ill probably end up using

anyways here is the pics

the NC II i have is actually a NC II.5 as it has soo much EF identical items bu is missing smartlock, i read somewhere that ford trialed the EF gear in the NC II and NC III along with late ED's so im not surprised.

here is the bits i picked up today plug all the disto blocks i have to do the setup

so before i can go any further i need a 3" holesaw and find my hex keys to remove the seats then i can remove the rest of the old loom and fit the new loom. then its just a matter of finding an un-damaged EF/EL dash pad

to be honest, its awesome. its all flowing nicely, motor came out faultlessly and everything is just running smooth.. but if i cant find a good dash to put in soon im just going to put the cracked one in for now, there is no tweeter panel cover for the dash and its starting to lift, but i can glue and screw it down. i just want to complete the project.

only thing im not sure about is the brake light switch, indicator setup (will EF one with straight onto the NC shaft?) and trying to find some NF/NL carpet so i can fit the console properly

Yep, you would need a Fairmont loom for the electric aerial.

Re the combination switch, no the EF one won't bolt directly to the NC steering column. You can however dismantle the two combination switches and swap the arms over. Troyman has done this.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers

but will they plug in directly? i made up one a while back for the fairlane but never installed it. im sure if it doesnt plug in the wires will be colour coded...

last question, i have smartlock in the new loom, but the current ignition barrel isnt smartlock, can i remove the key barrel and fit it to a smartlock ignition system

Not sure if the NC column loom will plug in directly to the EF dash loom. I doubt it.

You can only compare the plugs and pinouts, and worst case cut and shut.

For the smartlock key barrel, you will need the complete barrel and steering lock assembly off the EF and the 4 wires that come off the end.

Cheers

what i ment about the smartlock is i have a NC II smartlock barrel and assembly here with a key, as the EF didnt have a key, can i use the NC setup with my barrel in it to keep the same key?

If you don't have the key for the EF, you can't get the barrel out, as the key is required for the barrel removal.
